Yost is taking shots at bdp and casting doubt on his credibility while he writes for the biggest NHL BS generator on the internet. It's ironic, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

That wasn't my suggestion at all. I merely stated that the brass HAS been on this site before, so who's to say they won't ever come back? point is, this information coudl have been presented by people on senschirp, and the sens brass DOES know about senschirp. Hell they're giving ppl incentive to mention senschirp when they buy season tickets.

and I don't see people posting insider information, but I do see people talking about where to get insider information, including usernames. talking principle wise, an HB user who's also registered here picks up the info from here, posts it on a forum at HB and now more people know about it. why is yost suddenly the bad guy when anyone can do this? he should now make it known that his information cannot be shared, and the instant it is, it should be taken down or he will stop sharing.

Because Yost is a featured blogger. If someone affiliated with an NHL team is going to check HB, they aren't going to read every reply to every topic. They're going to read the featured post.

weren't we all skeptical when someone who wants to be taken seriously decides to falsely lead everyone about spezza being traded to 'teach us a lesson'? I think it works both ways, and yeah if I were yost, I'd just pm the guy and ask him if its okay to use his stuff. yost, too, is an idiot. but to get so hyperactive over someone quoting him from one forum to another, that happens all the time. To me yost is just some fan who likes discussing hockey, but probably used poor judgement by writing a 'blog' about this rumour (and subsequently, the user's credibility).

I don't think bdp is exactly thrilled with Yost. They seem to have some prior beef it would appear.

Yost stands on a larger platform, and speaker with a louder megaphone, than anyone else. That's because of his position with HB gives him a huge audience. 300 people patrol GMHockey daily; but thousands and thousands of people patrol HB daily. There's a huge difference there and it's dishonest to pretend otherwise or as if it doesn't make a difference.

Your position here assumes that GMH and HB are basically equivalents. That's not true. They're both internet sites and therefore equally accessible, granted, but the don't receive anywhere near the same kind of traffic. Information posted here won't spread like wildfire, but it will if it's posted on HB. I'm guessing that with that one post, Yost made BDP known to 1000s of more readers who had never heard of him before. And that's obviously bad for business as concerns BDP.

Sources need to remain anonymous. Yost knows that. So why name the source? Why not treat him like every other source -- i.e., here's the rumour, but it's just a rumour. It was a brain fart or purposeful sabotage -- and either way, it was bad form.

Also: the concern/assertion that the Sens org has been on this site before strikes me as self-congratulatory (and a borderline masturbatory fantasy). I seriously doubt it -- perhaps I missed the proof? -- but even if it happened, how could anyone here prove it? N4L's departure showed us that we can't really track anyone's identity with any certainty whatsoever.

just so it's cleared up, 2 years ago when montreal was seeking a way to land vinny, vinny came out to the media and said he'd like to remain in tampa. last year again when another round of rumours started surfacing after his poor play vinny when asked his oppinion stated he wanted to finish his career in tampa.

you don't have to know the guy to know 1+1 makes 2. he clearely wants to stay there and made it clear everytime he's been asked.

I think we're comparing two different things here. My beef is with the fact that bdp is saying that his source will find out through HB (and yost) about him and what I'm saying is that the same info gets posted here which leads another user to say pickup the info from here. again, if the real issue was about his source not leaking anymore info to him because of yost's antics, but has anything been done about the post itself? no, its more of a personal combat between the two. I don't buy the bogus about this being yost's fault, which is the argument he's making. I buy the fact that information about the internet's source shouldn't be presented on such a personal level, but he's leaving himself wide open to those antics by not setting some precedent or rule. Its a public forum!

The point is, 1000s of more people will read HB than here or any other hockey rumour site. BDP's source is more likely to hear about BDP positing what he does now precisely because it's on HB.

Not all hockey forums are created equal. The more followers, the more likely it is that BDP's source will hear about this. It's pretty simple, really.

SensChirp gets more views than Yost by a long shot - not buying the temper tantrum at all.

Doesn't matter anyway, you can bet JC at SensChirp will hear about this if it's legit - and if BDP wants to back away, then JC will take it laughing and run.

If there's anything to run with - which I bet there won't be.
