rumours "du jour"

well figured i'd start a new rumours topic as the other one had started out mostly to see if filatov would be moved(and now it seems he's going back to Colombus).


so i found this from a website that's been known to be right sometimes. especialy with habs related rumours. tthey fell on hard times last year when then announced that frolov was a guarantee to be traded last year to the habs and it never happened. they try to do some backpeddling but just ended up looking like fools.

anyway they seem to be excited about this. in this desperate times for something to happen i thought this was decent enough to chew on.

Depuis le 1er juillet, Hockey30 vous rapporte que le CH et les Kings discutent. Or, hier, nous avons eu vent que les noms d'Andrei Kostitsyn et Roman Hamrlik circulaient à Los Angeles. (voir l'article rumeurs croustillantes).

Et bien voilà que le nom de Jarret Stoll se retrouve dans les rumeurs à Montréal. Pierre Gauthier aimerait mettre la main sur le joueur de centre depuis le début de l'été. Le directeur général, Dean Lombardi, serait toutefois trop gourmand pour le moment en demandant Andrei Kostitsyn et un défenseur (Hamrlik ou Spacek) en retour de Stoll.

Les jeunes défenseurs Colten Teubert (20 ans, 1er choix des Kings en 2008-13ème au total), Davis Drewiske (25 ans) et David Kolomatis ont été proposés à Pierre Gauthier.

Ces négociations seront-elles synonymes de transaction bientôt?

so apperently (as to why that is it's beyond me) La is interested in Andrei K and hamrlik. and the habs are trying to get stoll. seems like lombardi isn't interested but has offered the likes of Colten Teubert ,Davis Drewiske and David Kolomatis.

i'm not sure how teubert has been doing lately but if i was the habs i'd be damn happy if anyone wanted to take hamrlik and A K 47 off my hands. hamrlik last year (an absurd 5.5 mill) would be nice for the habs to be off the books. if they could get teubert and moller then they should go for it.

Yeah, if they could shed Hamrlik, they're laughing. AK is a big part of their offense though.

he wasn't last year. they even put him on the fourth line. i guess they feel he's been a distraction. if the can get stoll and rid themselves of hamrlik , why not? next gomez... actualy gomez is a very decent 2nd line center. it's that contract that's a nightmare. same story with pleckanec

it will be interesting to see hoe eller fares this year. see if parting ways with halak was a good idea.
still they are ways ahead of where they were 2 years ago.

Still, you know that AK is capable of netting goals for the team - either with Plekanec or with Eller. I agree though, if they can rid themselves of Hamrlik and move forward with a player like Stoll, that's a win. Even if it's for Stoll's 60+ face off %, but can Stoll play a wing? Soon Montreal will have Gomez, Plekanec, Eller down the middle, I don't see where Stoll would play?

i think eller can play the wing, no? i hope so for the them. because i doubt anyone takes plecky or gomez of their hands.

You would not want Stoll on the wing. He is probably the best if not top 5 in the league at face-offs. Why wouldn't you want the best taking draws?

And I doubt Stoll leaves LA if he has any say. He's dating a TV star (Katie Cassidy of Melrose Place).

LE SOLIEL/RDS.CA: report former Washington Capitals forward Eric Belanger admits he's signed a new one-year contract with an NHL team but cannot yet disclose the club's identity as it is currently working on a deal which would affect its salary cap space.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: My thanks to everyone who sent in the links to this story. Internet speculation has Belanger signing with the Toronto Maple Leafs but that's not confirmed. The Leafs aren't the only team which would be in a position of having to move cap space to make room for Belanger and/or making other deals. Hopefully we'll have more information soon

Dung, I hope it's not the Leafs. I laughed that off as a 'everyone wants to sign here' when I heard it. I'm honestly not even sure where he'd fit in on the Leafs, they have an abundance of 3rd liners, but it's the skilled centers they need.

I like Belanger a lot, but if they trade Kaberle and don't get a great return, then they sign Belanger, they just won't score (however, they'd be tough to play against...)

Buzz on Twitter according to Spectors is that Fleischmann could be dealt by WAS for a defenceman.

Oh, oh. Washington doesn't need to get Kaberle, it would make them almost impossible to beat.

Mind you, they still don't have a 2nd line center, which I think is cute, but I bet this is a Kaberle for Fleishmann +.

I don't know what position Fleischmann plays or can play, but I see NHL 10 has him as a C, and TOR could use a C, or even a W. Makes a lot of sense actually. And WAS has Backstrom and Laich as 1/2.
