Once bdp clarified what the real issue is I got it.

bdp doesn't have a problem with people mentioning the rumor itself, he just doesn't want any reference to his account mentioned. Apparently his source thinks something is up because of the Foligno contract signing. And if his source finds out he's been running the info the web consistently, the guy won't have any more info.

I don't feel like going back to HB, the video makes my computer slow down here. Did he actually named BDP? Then it's poor form, but still, IMO BDP has been doing this long enough that he had to realize that almost every Sens fan with a computer would catch wind of it.

One thing that's come of this is that bdp insists Savard is not coming to Ottawa. So that narrows it down.

HB is indeed Dung, but people read it a whole lot more than, say, this site. Sorry to break it to you. I go to my gf's softball games and talk to random hockey fans there (i.e., the significant others of her teammates), and they all know about HB, and they all talk about its rumours (even if they don't believe them).

Did you read all his quotes? He's basically demeaning Yost and saying he has better sources and cussing at him in poorly worded sentences. Yost is basically saying he didn't know that BDP wouldn't like his info taken and won't do it again without asking. so what's the big deal? If this was *such* a huge concern for BDP, the first thing he'd want is to get that story taken off asap, and then he coulda chewed out Yost. Sounds like he's just blowing off steam at whatever issues those two have. I'm thinking practically here, and not saying that BDP doesn't have a right to be pissed off. its just hurting him more than anything by behaving so unprofessionaly

For better or worse (in my opinion, much worse) that site is in the public conscience of average hockey fans. I wouldn't be surprised to know that at least 1 representative of each NHL team keeps an eye on things in the rumor mill which would unfortunately have to include hockeybuzz.

I hope none of this damages Elwy Yost's reputation.

On the suggestion that the Sens org reads this site regularly: please. We have, what, 300 members? Places like Dobber have 20,000+, and I'd guess that HB has even more than that. This site is way better that HB, in my humble opinion, but let's not pretend here that it has anywhere close to the same kind of following.

As for the difference you don't see: do you see anyone on this site posting 'insider information'? The closest thing we had to that were Dawg, Dawg's wife, and N4L. There's a huge difference between talking about the Sens, and leaking out sensitive Sens org information.

I called him an infant originally because I thought he'd taken exception to someone else using his rumor. However, once I understood what the problem is, which is that bdp has a legitimate concern that his source (a very good one at that) is starting to get suspicious of how bdp is using the information he's being given, I sided with bdp.

Yost, a no body as far as I know, essentially quoted bdp's rumor and then took two shots at the guy by saying he has a so-so record and that he doubts that there are enough sources in Ottawa for bdp to have such a high level one.

That wasn't my suggestion at all. I merely stated that the brass HAS been on this site before, so who's to say they won't ever come back? point is, this information coudl have been presented by people on senschirp, and the sens brass DOES know about senschirp. Hell they're giving ppl incentive to mention senschirp when they buy season tickets.

and I don't see people posting insider information, but I do see people talking about where to get insider information, including usernames. talking principle wise, an HB user who's also registered here picks up the info from here, posts it on a forum at HB and now more people know about it. why is yost suddenly the bad guy when anyone can do this? he should now make it known that his information cannot be shared, and the instant it is, it should be taken down or he will stop sharing.
