You could have the Gudbranson bros on the blueline in 5 years, draft his brother Alex.

I'm telling you, if this trade doesn't have Weiss and Ballard, or Weiss and the 3rd overall or Brassard and the 4th or Brassard and Filtov, I'm not gonna be pleased.

I assume those are the two packages, or close to it. I don't want no Fat Penner, Cogliano, 31st overall bull****, then I'll be MIGHTY pissed.

Yeah, his brother's apparently awesome as well.

Yeah, the potential of a

Karlsson - Cowen
Gudbranson - Wiercioch

top four is pretty jaw-dropping. And getting Brassard + Filatov or Brassard and keeping our first round pick would allay some of my fears about our future offence.

I'm just not sure I envision that calibre of return. Last off-season we were all speculating/proposing Frolov, Teubert and LA's first rounder (Schenn) for Heatley, and while we did get a solid upgrade on Frolov in Michalek, the rest of that package didn't exactly materialize.

BDP/DMJ said the Sens were waiting on a second round pick to be added to the deal (presumably to draft Bennett or J. Larsson, if you believe his other scoops). In that case, if it is indeed Columbus, it's probably Brassard plus a defenceman plus the 34th. Which is OK, I guess, but still a deal where we lose from a hockey perspective.

We'll see, Im nervous as a fan because this is a franchise altering trade. I know for sure that Murray is getting a center back with a ton of potential, Im pretty confident in that. Is he getting a first or more? That's where I question things.

With Weiss and the 3rd you would need to give up 16, same goes for Brassard and the 4th. Even then I doubt that would be enough.

Maybe Weiss/Horton and the 3rd overall and their 2nd rounder for Spezza and 16 overall and Foligno.

Me no likey that deal. Brassard, Filatov and 34th for Spezza, Lee makes me less upset.

Looking at that Mendes article now... haha that might be the finally F U to fans from Spezza.

Anyways, if he gets traded, my opinion on him is... he quit and took the easy road and that's just proof he bails when things get tough.

I'm prepared to give up our 1st to get into the top 4. Also prepared to sacrifice Lee if need be. Sarcasm And...possibly Foligno as well if need be.

Why, there was that Rangers/Islanders trade, why can't we trade (although it's an arse thing to do)?

This would take a lot of focus off the finals and no way would it be announced before the playoffs were over. We will know when everything is over and the draft is just around the corner.

If he gets moved my guess is it's one of 3 teams.

Columbus - Murray and Howson have dealt before.
Edmonton - They've shown serious interest in Spezza before
Florida - Tallon could make the big splash that the market needs.

Longshot - St. Louis. It doesn't seem like their style but they are close to being very competitive, they have tons of cap space and assets.

My thoughts exactly. Those are the 4 teams that can offer something back of value and not just a bunch of picks or 2nd tier players.

Brassard, Gagner, Weiss, and Berglund. In all honesty though, I dont see Edmonton taking a short cut here, I think the build on this first round pick and go through the true rebuild.

Wow look how much hoopla 1 post from an anonymous HFBoards has created- on both sites. This guy could post anything and just sit back and watch his puppets go wild.

I can't open the link. But...

* no deal will be announced this week
* Cullen gets his money and is the #1 center next year if Spezza is gone
* Spezza, Lee, & Volchenkov rights are out the door

Please God don't let us get ripped off by Edmonton. I've been sparring with Oil fans all week on HF explaining why Spezza for Cogliano and Penner is a terrible move for the Sens. Mad

Well it is. If that's the actual deal I think it's safe to say even those who want Spezza gone, Murray got shafted hard in a big, bad way.
