I would probably trade Spezza straight-up for Koivu. It'd never happen, though. Koivu is their full-time captain and MVP, and he's signed to a great deal. I dont think there is anyway that's the deal either. I think Murray's tenure here will be based on the next 3-4 weeks work. I cant see Murray letting Spezza go for anything less then a potential number 1 center. Be it Gagner, Brassard, Weiss, Berglund, whoever else. That's the basis for any trade IMO.

Edmonton, well, I dont think they are in it to be honest and will stick to the long term plan of rebuilding.

The Sens are a major part of my life, but if they made a Penner, Cogliano, 31st overall deal for Spezza, I'd be so pissed it wouldn't even be funny.

I would even question Murray if that was what we actually got back, I just cant see that being the case. If it was Gagner, I would be very happy with that.

Gagner, Fat Penner and the 31st overall would appease you? I don't like it that much personally. What's Gagner, just a younger, smaller version of Spezza. Penner might have had a fluke year last year and the 31st overall doesn't make me jump around personally.

That is exactly what will happen, and it's killing me. That's the way I see it anyways.

I'll always be a Sens fan, but I might have split allegiances for the next little while mif the return is as bad as I'm anticipating.

Gagner also comes from an NHL family and is very humble, something missing in terms of Spezza which is why, IMO, he hased for a deal. It has to happen to players like Spezza and it hasnt yet.

Gagner can and probably will put up 80 plus points in the next few years. I just cant see Edmonton dealing for Spezza to be honest. Hall/Gagner/Hemsky could be scary.

I have a lot more faith in Murray then what some people are saying here. If they get a 1st rounder and a potential number 1 center, it's a win IMO. Anything else is just gravey and we all know what Murray does with draft picks.

Ya, I dont think Spezza gets moved alone. Lee, Foligno, Ruutu, Lee, maybe O'Brien, Daugvanins...

Depending on this deal, it could be the end of Murray or it could be the start a very deep and solid team going forward. I just hope people are objective about it when the time comes.

Add Lehner in there... man, and based on who The Sens draft this year and next up front along with guys graduation from college... esssh. A lot hindges on this trade though, a lot.

I'm telling you, if this trade doesn't have Weiss and Ballard, or Weiss and the 3rd overall or Brassard and the 4th or Brassard and Filtov, I'm not gonna be pleased.

I assume those are the two packages, or close to it. I don't want no Fat Penner, Cogliano, 31st overall bull****, then I'll be MIGHTY pissed.
