With this, Filatov could be expendable given that they have tons of scoring, some pretty decent forwards in their system, and he's not a hitchcock player.
I'd expect Kelly, Shannon, and Foligno's names to come up for sure, with Lee, Picard, Volchenkov. So the question is what do the Sens give up for an elite talent who could solve our scoring issues going forward and be part of the core, but is thus far in his career unrpoven.
To Columbus: Lee, Kelly, SJS 2nd
To Ottawa: Filatov, defensive prospect, Conditional 1st (if Filatov doesn't come back from the KHL)
???
I think this could get very, very complicated. I think the first thing you have to do if you're in Murray's shoes is explain to Howson exactly why he shouldn't expect Wiercioch + back for Filatov.
If he allows you to continue, then you try to convince him that Foligno and a 1st is good enough for a guy you're having some issues with. He'll most likely want Picard as well - and he'll be willing to give you Russell, so it becomes:
To Columbus:
Foligno
1st Round Pick
Picard
To Ottawa:
Filatov
Russell
3rd Round Pick
If you're lucky enough to get Howson on a good day.
seriously i think we may be kidding ourselves. i don't think it's far fetched that howson asks for weircioch or even cowan... grated he'd have to fork over more the filatov, but i can tell you he'd try to get one of those guys. cowan is a big NO NO. but weircioch... you have to give a little to get a little.
i like what you're proposing but i doubt they'd want to flip us russell. foligno i can live with, but not our first.
to columbus:
foligno
picard or lee
to ottawa:
filatov
2nd rounder(maybe 3rd)
(let's see what that second rounder can hold for us)
would they take him straight up? i doubt it...N4L wrote:Flo The Action wrote:SpezDispenser wrote:Kovalfie wrote:

Id give up Wiercoich for Filatov, no doubt.

Don't do a lot of rumors but getting a ton of info about the Blue Jackets talking to Ottawa, Montreal & Tampa Bay. Sens seems the most solid
oh wouldn't that be good news!M_Christopher wrote:Well a bit of an twitter update:

Kovalfie wrote:I'd expect Lee or Campoli to be going the other way so I don't think Wiercioch or Cowen are really on the table. I'd also include one of Foligno, Ruutu, Shannon, Kelly, Cheechoo, or Winchester and nothing higher than the SJ 2nd rd pick.
Columbus is weak at the defensive-forward position and needs someone to be their 1-2 defencemen. Lee would easily fit in to Columbus' top-four right away (especially with Klesla injured).
To Ottawa: Filatov, Blunden/Methot, conditional 1st & 2nd
To Columbus: Kelly, Lee, SJS 2nd
I would maybe throw in a prospect like O'Brien or Hennessey
Hoags wrote:What are the chances that Filatov won't stay in the KHL ?
People on HF say trade Karlsson but I think that's silly, creating a big hole on defence to just to patch another.
SeawaySensFan wrote:Filatov is an asset right now, nothing more, to the Jackets. He's no longer even a prospect for them because a loan to the KHL is pretty much confirmation that he's no longer a Blue Jacket.
His market value should be equal to Radulov.
