I kid...

What, no Cyclone Taylor or Clint Benedict on this poll?

Too far back, but there were some incredible players on the Sens of the 20s (and before that of course).

And where's Ron Tugnutt? Heckuva goalie, and a great name to boot.

He's in the 'other' area.

Yeah, but you're lumping all the players from the 90's in the 'other' area...Norm McIver, Brad Marsh...guys who played their heart out back when the team was new and battling the odds.

Shrug You can only have 10 poll options. Thems the breaks.

I had originally put Rhodes, Tugnutt, Hasek and Schubert (as a joke) in there and realized I only could put 10. I thought that people would just write them in as they saw fit.

Its gotta be Tugger!

Against all odds he led the Senators to their first playoff berth and almost won the round.

Not to mention that he still lives in Stittsville.

Tuggnutt rules.

Speaking of Rhodes, i was at the Sens charity thing like when he was still the starter. They had this thing going where kids could take shots on Rhodes and Tugger. I just happened to be taking the locker room tour when Rhodes came in after being relieved, so he was partially ungeared.

The guy had a leopard skin style jock strap. How odd.

Yeah, where's The Tugger in this poll? There's no justice anymore.

If we're talking about second favourite and even third I think I gotta go with Hossa first as I said earlier, Lalime 2nd (Just seemed like a really nice personable guy), third is Tugnutt.

If we're talking about talented players that I wish we had back on the team but aren't necessaraly a favourite of mine then my list would be different.

In that case I would go with Chara, Hossa, Havlat, Hasek

does the scale accept more than 100%? I am surprised someone didn't put yashin in there just for $hits and giggles, either that or Alexandre Daigle.

I think it's sacrilege to be talking about Alfie and the subject of former Sen in the same sentence. Alfie will never be a "former" sen. He'll be a retired Sen who may one day take a front office job with the organisation but he'll never be a former Sen.

OK never is a strong word but that is what I choose to believe Smile

and you couldn't be more right in your synopsis sir, if Luke Richardson keeps a front office position with us after only a couple of seasons, maybe less with us, the red carpet better be rolled out when Alfie finally does decide to retire, and that red carpet leads right into the front office.

Oh I have no doubt that if Alfie wanted a job with the Sens after he retired there would be one waiting for him. I only said he may take one because he just might want to stay retired and spend time with his family instead who knows?

I gotta say that if I was 40ish, a multi-millionaire and set to retire I don't think I'd turn down the opportunity to spend most of that free time with my family. I don't know about Hockey players and there drive to stay in the game though. That might draw Alfie back in some capacity at some point.
