The master list is updated and a link to it is in the first post of this thread. I also included the latest picks in my PM to jog everyone's memories. Yes, I've been waiting for this all day.

Well, Gagne was on my list, but he's in a fairly large group. Kronwall, on the other hand, je was at the top of my short defenseman list. Sad

As for Little, he was part of Chris Neil's top-rated hit of the season, wasn't he? Can he eat solids yet?

Bright future for Little and BOgosian (even Kane may be) I think this year.

I've got Bogosian highlighted in my spreadsheet, just haven't been able to figure out what his projected numbers should be. But I'm keeping an eye on him, for sure.

Kane, though, rookie. I stay away from those.

Well both Tavares and Hedman have been taken, how many other players from this draft are likely to make it?

Kane and Duschene I'd figure, maybe Kadri.

I'm not saying that a rookie will not produce. But a vast majority of rookies are ranked too highly in drafts. Even Crosby did not lead the league in his rookie year. Didn't even win the Calder.

Tavares could get 35 goals and 20 assists, but other players taken in that round could get 60 points. I can't predict how a rookie wll do, so I tend to stay with the safer bets.

Again, I'm not criticizing anyone's picks of rookie players, it's just that I'd experienced it enough myself. Like that time I picked Kari Lehtonen for a friend in a pool (it was his second season, but he was still a rookie after going 4-0 the year before). And of course he pulls his groin in game 1 when Horton fell on him, missing nearly half the season.

We know by now that Lehtonen is injury prone, and if I'd known that when he was a rookie, I would never have picked him for my friend as early as I did.

Those who picked Crosby with their top-three pick in a 2005 draft got a heck of a return with 102 points, but they missed out on Alfredsson and Heatley (103), Ovechkin (106), Jagr (123) or Thornton (125).

Of course there are probably just as many examples of rookies exceeding the consensus projections, which does little more than reinforce the idea that, without history, it's hard to predict the future.

Not many "starting" goalies left. I believe we're down to the Isles, Avs and Leafs as the only teams whose goalies haven't been picked. Cas (picking next) already has two goalies. I wonder if Cap'n (who took Vokoun so far) has been paying attention to what's been going on in other threads.
