And, again, using your own argument, there are players remaining who will get 70+ points. Doan got 73 last season, he's not getting younger, his team isn't exactly getting better (or more stable) and this is an Olympic year. He might get 75 points this year, but how many of those will be scored in Vancouver in February?

Hopefully 1, because I have him pegged for 74 in the NHL this year.

Great answer.

Side note - check your PM. If you think there is a forward left who will get more points than Doan, I have a proposition for you.

Excellent, but we're obviously waiting on caissie_1.

A little while SpezD urged everyone to add their e-mail to their profiles. This would let people from this pool to contact you by e-mail. If you are receiving e-mail notifications of PMs already, it's not really any more invasive, and an e-mail will get you the complete information (a PM notification just tells you you have a PM waiting).

Let's face it, e-mail is more efficient than PM.

We'll just call him Glenn from now on. In a rather indirect reference to Glenn Campbell (from caissie to Cassie to Cassie Campbell to Glenn).

Just kidding, of course.

Excellent pick there with Koivu. I had him at the top of my remaining 70+ point men. But there are still 9 left there, and I never rank/project rookies, so there could be more, who knows.

As for the Hedman pick, it may pay off. A top-two draft pick is as close to a sure thing as you can get. And even though he's a defenseman, adjusting to a new game against better players on a smaller ice rink, it's not like there were any 50 point defensemen left. Hedman should get you 40 points by doing no more than what's expected, and he's definitely got 50 point upside (but probably not this year).

Although all that said, am I correct? Are there no 50 point defensemen left? Hmm, let's see ...

Nobody has their picks? They're off the grid completely? Maybe next year we should hold a BlackBerry draft -- only those with one (or a reasonable facsimile) are allowed to join in.
