Cogliano has excellent speed, but he's not big if I remember correctly. Fat Penner will have to get to that diddling net and kill it. I know nothing about Smid.

I wouldn't say that, it does give some cap room to go and get another UFA. THis might make us quite deep, especially if the Sens can turn Penner around.

i just looked up smid... not looking to hot in the minus... i have to admit that i'm really excited about cogs. he hasn't reached his full potential yet. why couldn't we get eberle in there..?

penner...? i don't know... could the fresh air be good for him? maybe clouston wip him into shape? remains to be seen. i'm so so on this deal but excited on cogs without a doubt.

There is a big difference between picks and prospects and this crap..they have taken on huge $$$ for players who collectively may score 40 goals and have made us worse.

We don't need more defense, we don't need another small forward, and we definately don't need another fat fwd who doesn't play D or move his feet...hell that's who we're trading away.

Cogliano is an RFA next year. We won't lose him. People keep referring to Fat Penner, it's not like Heatley was running marathons.

IFFFFFFFFFFFFFF Penner can become what everyone thought he would become, it's a good deal. I'm not thrilled, but I'll reserve judgment for a year.

I'm not so sure..Ottawa only has 4 million on the cap now, and this deal really only clears another 2 million..

considering the cap will go down next year and Penner's anchor of a contract they don't have the room to sign a top fwd
