Don't worry about the 1st rounder or Lupul, I'll take Bobby Ryan straight up for Heatley. Save $$ too.

I imagine Lupul is just included to take a salary back, Ryan is the main piece of that deal, the 1st would just be a bonus.

Posters on senschirp seem to be implying it's Heatley's girlfriend that's putting him up to this.

I wonder where that's coming from lol.

so it looks like Ek is implicating us to blame for leaking the Oiler players names in the proposed deal from June 30th.

Imagine how Cogliano, Smid, and Penned must feel about this...So nice of Ottawa to leak those names just to get back at the Rangers...or so the myth goes...

Ek wouldn't know the truth behind these things. He should probably stick to creating fake rumours.

So, ANA trades Lupul to EDM, who trades him to PHI, who in turn trades him back to ANA, and then before he can even play a(nother) game as a Duck, ANA trades him lickysplit to OTT?

Who comes up with this Dung? This is just stupid now.

It's been stupid for about 2 weeks now... I seriously dont even care until camp starts up. I might move to Bingo for a year, way more excitted about that team.

Chance to the kids develope, see exactly where they are at, see who gets the injury call ups, so on. Ottawa's year is already written, with or without Heatley. We are going finsih somewhere between 6th and 10th, hit, Pitts, Wash, or Bos in the first round, and call it a year.

Sens are a playoff team now I believe, but its pretty obvious where we stand compared to everyone else in the conferance.

Fair enough, but it'll be exciting to see how some of the guys play this year. I think we're done in round 1 - if we get there - but at the same time, if Leclaire gets hot, we might have some fun.

I'm looking forward to the guys who have an NHL future down in Bingo. O'Brien, Condra.

You guys are just as bad as the habs fans I have to work with; last year, it was "there won't be any playoffs this year, we'll just hand the cup to the habs at the end of the season"; you guys are not so optimist but it's like everything is already written in stone 3 months before puck drop. Come on guys.

We can beat Pittsburgh. If we can get into the playoffs, we have just as good of chance as any, depending on injuries and all that.

I'm excited. Very excited actually. Especially with the moves to shore up the goaltending with Leclaire. Kovalev was a great signing and I love Regin.

Also, I think Campoli might surprise.

I'm in. I still think we might have trouble if/when we make the playoffs, but that's what it's all about. We'll be successful when the Big 3 on D develop.

I agree. If the team makes the playoffs this year (and I expect they will), it will mean they have put the majority of their difficulties behind them, have adopted the system under Clouston, and have proven effective enough at playing it that they finish among the top 8 teams in the conference.

If they do that, the Sens have as good a chance as any to advance past the first round.

They don't really give any reason for that statement, though... Seems like nothing more than baseless speculation. I could say the same thing: Well, Melnyk says a deal can come anytime, but there seems to be no indication that Heatley will waive to go to Edmonton. I wouldn't expect a deal anytime sooner than August 13th at noon.
