Just out of curiousity. What does any of this have to do with the Schubert situation? Wink

Michelle Yeoh was in Tomorrow Never Dies, then Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. She's a martial arts expert/actor.

Kelly Preston, my favorite line by her has got to be "Don't ... ever ... stop ... ****ing me!" from Jerry Maguire, right after the line "Whoever snagged him must be some classy babe".

I developed quite the little crush on Kelly after that film. What a beautiful woman she is - Travolta is a lucky man.

It really is too bad she's a Scientologist.

I am prepared to accept that, I really wouldn't be listening to anything she had to say anyway Laughing3 :drooling:

So how about Schubert? This seems to have gotten really far off track.

Anyone think he should just be waved if he can't be traded? I really don't see him having a future on this team and we have too many young guys who need the experience (you know like he did a few years ago before he got the big screw).

Only if it gets really serious and we run out of cap room. I think Schubert can still play the game personally. 900K is a fair chunk, but it won't kill us to have a swing man that can play D, kill penalties or play 4th line checking roles.

That's my opinion. But I also think he'll be traded.

Absolutely! Even at $900K or whatever he's getting, he can play solid energy-line minutes, can stand in front of the goalie on the PP, and fill-in when one of Philchenkov gets a penalty. If you waive him and replace him with a league-minimum salary, how much are you really saving? Peanuts. Best case scenario is he impresses in camp and some GM likes what his scouts see.

For sure his cap hit is nothing to worry about, but I would rather Campoli/Lee/Picard get the chance to improve with the ice time.

Schubert is *not* taking away ice time from those three. Neither one plays on the PK.

That's basically it. Unless they can trade him and use Z.Smith or O'Brien, I don't see the huge benefit of waiving Schubert.

Trading him outright, that's fine. Waiving him? Not so much IMO.

I believe they already have 8 defencemen signed next year. If they waive him, they don't need to bring in a cheaper replacement. So really, they save the 900k.
