He's in Atlanta as an AC.

The interesting part of that article is that Richardson declined the coaching job and Clouston is looking for another former player to fill that position. Smith is not yet "former" unless those early rumours of a career-ender develop into reality. So, who else could fit the job description?
If it's not Smith, then I'm thinking it might not be someone with any relation to Ottawa at all. Other than Richardson, I can't remember the last player to retire as an Ottawa Senator.
Maybe its someone Clouston has a history with?

If Yashin were willing to take 2.5 or something on a one year deal, I'd bring him in as a second line centre. I still maintain that Fisher needs to play the wing. A Heatley-Spezza-Fisher line would be awesome.

Although I'd love to see *that* top line, you can't put Yashin on a line with Alfie. It would be heart and anti-heart, like matter and anti-matter. A big explosion and the world of a clean up.
Also, he would not go for $2.5M and I would never want to give it to him.

Heh i didn't think about that, there is probably still some bad blood between Yashin and Alfie. I do remember in game 4 of the first series against Buffalo that had Alfie setting up Yashin for an OT goal, but that was long ago.
Im just desperate for a 60 point guy, i believe Yashin could do that. I don't think it would happen, but it would be a nice story

Nice?
I wonder if he'd survive the first drive to the rink.
I'm sure there are more than a few fans that would be quite ready to run him off the road...he certainly did his best to piss off a few people while he was here.
