I voted for Alfie, but he was the only Senator.

I'm pretty sure I voted for Alfie but I think that was it.

Not sure if this is exactly the same as the 1st time I did it, but here's my votes:

WEST - Nash, Toews, Kane, Burns, Weber, Deslauriers

EAST - Kovalchuk, Malkin, Semin, Bouwmeester, Green, Miller

For all our trade talk of Bouw, I haven't heard much about the year he's having.

Anyone know more on that?

I was going to say that Koivu and Tanguay should not even be on the ballot. And I really like Koivu. Kovalev is there for what he did last year. I don't like it but I understand it. I really like Komisarek, but he's not haveing that great a year.

Then again, I won't be crying if Malkin and Crosby don't get voted in. I probably won't be watching anyway.

They're calling a lot of these votes back. The NHL vote site was hacked by Montreal fans.

Leads the league in ice time, playing against the other teams top players every night, looks great to be honest with you. He might not be putting up the numbers that would say he is having an all-star season, but he has been nothing short of that teams best player. Sometimes I have to get a proline to drag myself to watch the Panthers play, but when I do J Bo is always noticable, probably because he doesnt leave the ice it seems.

The guy is a franchise defensemen, end of story.

Terrible year so far. 8 points, 29 minutes a game, not good.

I'll take him. :D

Semi kidding yeah, but he's having a crappy year by his standards.

I'll take him though. :D

Numbers are meaningless when you're dealing with a guy who is playing against top players all night, every night. The only number that really matters is the almost 30 mins a night he plays, he is on the ice for 1/2 a game. The fact that J Bo has an extremely high offensive upside is totally over shadowed by the fact he is a great defenseman as well playing against the best.

J Bo's value to that team is about the same as Lidstrom to Detroit, and thats the truth. He is physical (not overly though), one of the best skaters in the game, great decision maker, has some play making ability, and has a great shot.

There really isnt a better D man in the game right now to build a team around. You can make an arguement for Weber and Burns, maybe even Phanuef, but I'll take J Bo with Weber in a close second. If J Bo goes to a team with any kind of offense he has the potential to almost produce at a PPG pace IMO.

That is not a lot of points, considering Campbell (who I most often hear him compared to trade value wise) put up 60+ points last year. Bouw is on pace for half that, might lower his value. **hopes

I've only seen a couple Florida games, and he was definitely noticeable.

J Bo wont be getting anything less than 7 million per. MAYBE if he is signed to something like a 10 year deal he takes 58-64 million over that term, but if its 8 years or less, bank on him getting that 7 mil.

Weber may very welll become the best defensman in the game before he is 28, 29. I still like J Bo because of the way he skates, but Weber is just insane as well.

If he wasnt burried in Nashville and was in a Canadian city, he would be talked like as if he was Luongo, Alfi or Price. The kid is that good.

Weber's got that disgusting canon of a shot too. He smashes guys through the boards.

This is franchise to me. He's better than Bow now IMO - by a fairly large margin.

But he's unattainable - so I revert back to the Bow Fetish.

By value I meant "trade value". I'm more optimistic in thinking $6.5M minimum for the right team, but for Ottawa to sign him, I feel it would be closer to $8M.

Case in point- Just bought NHL 09 a few days ago, created a dynasty, and traded Gerber, Vermette, and Schubert to Florida for Bouwmeester and Vokoun. If only this held true in real life....

Back to the matter at hand-

This is hilarious to me. Tanguay? In an all star game? Really??! I also think it's funny that the closest non-hab was also an ex-hab in Ribiero. This is just ridiculous- but I agree with what a couple people have said on here- let's have the entire Habs team represent the East and show what a joke this whole all-star process really is.

It's disgusting when you think that alot of the supreme talent is actually embodied in the East. OV, Crosb, Kovalchuk, etc.
