The train would not be going full tilt. It is approaching the Fallowfield train station just a few hundred feet after that crossing. It is supposed to be doing about 16 KMH (10 mph) going over Woodroffe and the transitway to the Via Station.

It was a Toronto-bound train.  I don't know if that would even stop at the Fallowfield station.

Edit: Yes it does. 8:52 is the scheduled stop time, the crash happened around 8:50. A reporter on the scene (on CFRA) was almost arguing that the train had just left a station, but that doesn't sound correct.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Wiercioch is gonna kill it this year. I'm tempted to guess him at 50 points playing PP1 with Karlsson, Spez, Ryan and Mach9.
