1.Why the heck do we have to have a tribute to everyone that was a Senator at one point?

2.Why are people even bothering booing Kovalev? He's so part of the past now, we should all be looking forward.

That's an issue for the Pens to deal with IMO. Laugh1

Cory Clouless isn't a bad tank commander himself.

If he could coach a team of Ryan Shannon clones he'd a Stanley Cup winner by now.

Not surprising the outcome, The Sens are a bad hockey team. Their 4th line can't even really be considered a 4th line, probably an o.k 2nd or 3rd AHL line at best. O'Brien is no where near being an NHL player at this point and probably won't ever be. No real offense, no real hockey sense, not overly physical, and average at best in the defensive zone.

No 1st line wingers on the team at this point and when Ryan Shannon is your 2nd line center, you are not going to win the majority of your games.

Tough to fault Anderson for the loss, he had little to no help at all in front of the net. That's 1st goal was an insane tip, 2nd goal was a sirty goal, 3rd was a bit of a stinker but still the Lovejoy let it rip from 10 feet in, the rest can't really be faulted on either.

Awful game by The Sens all around, Shannon and Condra were the 2 best players on the ice.

They need Silfverberg to come over in a big way and I am convinced they need a top line winger way more than they need a skilled center at this point. Drafting BPA is still the way to go but man would Landeskog fill a huge need.

RNH and Strome would make a perfectly 1st line winger. HEck, even the Nashville pick can bring someone like that. As long as the message from MAnagement is clearly to just play the kids next year without much pressure. Because if Cussing CLouston (if he stays) puts RNH on a line with AHLers, just send the kid back the dub already.

anderson looking more human each game now....expect his side to agree to terms real soon Sarcasm

@ NEELY, what makes u say that O'brien won't be playing in the nhl? by all accounts he's made great strides and i wouldn't say he's looked terrible up here.

I still remember when Brian Lee was looked as a colossal failure who couldn't even play at the AHL level, and O'brien's underachievement ain't anywhere close to that.

O'Brien isn't anywhere near ready enough from a mental or just a pure talent standpoint to be playing in The NHL. People saying he "isn't being given a shot" are ignoring the fact his upside is that of a 3rd line center, more than likely a 4th line center and even that's pushing it at this point.

He's been leap frogged by Condra, Greening, Butler, and if Ottawa drafts Landeskog and Silfvergberg comes over, he has absolutely no shot to make it in Ottawa, not that he is ready anyways.... hell that Nashville pick if they draft a forward may be on par with O'Brien.

The difference between him and Lee is Lee was a top 10 pick with expectations right off the bat, people realize Ottawa would be lucky if O'Brien turned into an NHLer and if I'm guessing or prediciting, he won't. Lee also has a lot of tools that can make him a successful NHLer, he just had to change his game.

O'Brien worked hard because the next step for him was The ECHL, not The NHL and good for him, he deserved to get a look, but that's all he deserves and he go it... did nothing with it. Long way to go for that guy.

Meh, don't see how you can hate on Shannon at this point. He has a place on The Sens going forward as the 13th forward. He can fill in on the PK, PP, and on any given night any given line. If they don't resign him then w/e but I don't see a whole lot of risk to signing a guy that has earned his next contract through his play.

Next years line will probably look something like this.

Michalek/Spezza/Butler
Alfi/Regin/Landeskog
Neil/Smith/Foligno
Greening/Winchester/Condra
Shannon

That's just my guess. Obviously a lot can change with signings, draft picks, so on but as it stands right now, that's how I see things shakking out up front.
