Ooh, interesting. I'm getting a little bit hopeful (and damn you N4L and CC if you turn out to be wrong).

Boston had basically their full lineup on Friday and we dominated. (by all accounts).

With a weak schedual Ottawa has a chance to not only get off to a hot start but rip up the regular season.

It was beautiful man. Immediately put me at ease...

They didn't have a number of regulars though, so I wouldn't call it their full lineup.

Actually they were missing Bergeron, Ryder, Krejci, Sturm, Wheeler, Kobasew, Recchi, Begin, Wideman, Ference, Stuart.

Some of those names, for sure, are pretty good players.

Well technically not all accounts since we didn't dominate on the score board haha. I get your point though.

SHHH!!! I'm trying to keep a positive spin on it!

...

The Sens still looked real good and I stand by what I said.

I was out of town, didnt see the game. Saw Chara and Thomas and dropped the gun.

Even as the Sens dominated the first 2 periods, you could see the Bruins sticking to their system and slowly giving themselves chances to win. This week is SO important to this team. They have to be able to bury their chances early in a game so teams can't start gearing up for a 3rd period comeback. Especially with our average D, we need to bury the biscuit early and often.

For sure practice this week and the first couple months of the season will determine where this team is likely headed. I know stating the obvious but what the heck I'm having a sleep Jeff moment for those Team1200 listeners out there.

LEGEND:
Blue = correct in terms of making or not making the playoffs
Red = exactly correct position

I know it's early but this update doesn't look good for me. I didn't do too bad in the East in terms of who I thought would make the playoffs and who I thought wouldn't but only got Washington and NY Isles exactly correct. As for the West? Only 4 correctly predicted in the playoffs and 3 correctly predicted out of the playoffs (1 exactly correct) out of 15. It's still really early so who knows. Just goes to show just how many early surprises there have been for me.

Updated: OK so I've got almost all of the East right in terms of making or not making the playoffs in the latest snap shot. The West? Wow I'm way off here.

Well, for those that took the time to make predictions you can compare with the current standings since I posted them for you all to see. As to Prages and SF71 - Razz

Colorado too, no? Even Phoenix looks pretty good. NHL Standings for 09/10 season heading into the playoffs - Page 8 270956

Yet more proof that pre-season predictions are useless.

No one ever thought they'd be useful did they? I did this for fun.
