I’ve done a little reading on Mctavish too. Late riser, seems to be a guy that could be a too 6 C.
For where we draft it seems like it would be a good pick.

Im all for trading this pick also though. Especially if we can package it for a young top line C. I have a hard time believing that can happen and if it does it better not be a brassard “top line C”

A lot of people have us picking Wallstedt and although he’s a good prospect I find it hard to believe we can fill that need internally, by trade or FA without using a top 10 pick.
In the last decade it’s been showed again and again that goalies become vailable all too often via trade or FA. And they rarely cost a 1st to acquire.

With another 2 assists Connor Brown will finish as the leading scorer in the tournament

Edit make that 3 and Paul scores his first of the tourney for Canada to win gold in OT

The Golden Goal. Probably could hear his screaming "Brownie" in a a high-pitched voice calling for the puck.

That was awesome for Nick to finish it.

Apparently Friedman named the senators as potential suitors for Eichel.

Please god, no.

He’s exactly what we need. Would be our best player and is signed long term

he'd wreck the room.

he seems like a self-centred brat. i'm not convinced he's not part of what's wrong with buffalo.
no thank you. we have a good thing here.
plus, i'm sure we'd have to lose some great pieces to acquire him.
and who knows what that injury will mean going forward.

too many variables for me to want to go that route.
i'd be looking at LA for trades. get a good young C prospect out of there. espcially if they trade for Eichel. they are flush.

He would fit into our American core especially given he trains with white in the summer and went to BU like Brady.

We don’t need prospects. We need a veteran star

I don’t see a trade where Norris/Batherson ++isn’t going the other way.

I think he’s a winy player and he hasn’t shown guys in the room follow him. Steer clear.

Hard pass for me. His surgery is apparently very experimental meaning his injury is obviously bad and a full recovery may not be probable.

I'd be happier with Monahan personally.

I got red flags on monohan also. But it’s hard to tell.

Everyone out of calgary not names Tkachuk has a bit of a red flag on them. The lack of compete out of that franchise is worriesome

I agree but I read that it was a carousel with his lineages all year which may have contributed to his lack of consistency.

May also be able to acquire him on the cheap given his bad year. Worst thing is it doesn't work out and we get a first for him as a rental at the deadline.

I'd start by offering up our first, logan brown, Tierney and Thomson. That's a pretty big haul for a guy with two years left on his deal who hasn't performed well. Low risk to Ottawa minus the first rd pick

Monahan is having hip surgery. He shouldn’t cost that much.

Didn't know that. Worth the risk on a two year deal. Sub out our 1st for a second and keep in Tierney and Brown.

I doubt the flames trade him. Flames management don’t have the guts to overhaul what was supposed to be their core. Gaudreau is the big piece likely traded IF they trade any big ticket. Which I still don’t see them having the guts to do.

Should the Sens take a run at Hyman?

Meh. I don’t know that he’d be as productive in Ottawa. Probably not a 20 goal guy when not playing with that kind of teammates.

We have Brown to bring it.
