I doubt the flames trade him. Flames management don’t have the guts to overhaul what was supposed to be their core. Gaudreau is the big piece likely traded IF they trade any big ticket. Which I still don’t see them having the guts to do.

Meh. I don’t know that he’d be as productive in Ottawa. Probably not a 20 goal guy when not playing with that kind of teammates.

Unless we're taking a run at a stud defenceman, I don't think we need to try and sign anyone really. Just resign our own RFAs, and then I imagine maybe we see an impact player brought in via trade.

He's the type of player you want in the playoffs but I agree he may not produce as much if he's not playing with Matthews or Marner. But the ties to the Maple Leafs are strong in Ottawa - I suspect DJ will be in Dorion's ear for this.

Stutze-Pinto-Hyman could be a dirty 2nd line but I'd prefer another goal scorer on the wing there especially if Batherson projects to be a top-three forward along with Norris.

I dunno. He doesn't really interest me at all. His playoff stats aren't really impressive either.

Anyone check out Mendes's chatter on Henrique and Manson. He was saying it may be a good option given his chemistry with Brown and Paul at the WHC. We'd be doing Anaheim a big favour by taking Henrique off their hands - even at 50% salary - but Manson is an interesting piece and someone who can eat up minutes alongside Chabot and insulate the RD position for minimum a year. Worst case if JBD is ready they can flip him out at the deadline.

Henrique's contract is bad. Maybe at 50%, but then we're probably giving up a fair amount to have Anaheim eat that.

Josh Manson is all kinds of meh.

I dunno, maybe it's just me, but I'd like to bring in good players. Maybe that's asking too much.

i'd stay with Brown over Hyman. Brown as at least shown he can be effective without playing with top-line players

The Send resigned Troy Mann for 2 more years. He's done agreat job with our young ones

I wonder if there’s a promise in there that if coaching suffers he’s next in line.

Apparently Capuano wasn’t too happy to be denied permission to interview in Buffalo so I imagine he’s not likely to be the successor.

Who knows what’s going on in Ottawa.
Maybe Capuano would be the successor and Mann his assistant.

All I know if the coaching staff is likely going into the season without a contract past next year and apparently it’s not sitting well.

DJ will be the coach for years to come if they improve on what they’ve done this year. He’s fine a great job so far. No reason to believe he won’t be extended unless they have a terrible season.

Who cares about Capuano or any of the assistants. Mann might be promoted to assistant one day, but I can’t see him being a head coach.

Yeah, and I get if that's frustrating for the coaches, but hey...do a good job, and you'll get a contract, whether it's here or somewhere else. DJ will no doubt be looking for a raise.

Chris Philips quit his position with the sens foundation. by the sounds of it, it doesn't sound like it was done because he wanted time for his family. more likely disagreement with the other parties involved.
