He blocks anybody that says anything remotely negative, whether in jest or not. I've been blocked for a couple years now because I mentioned that his tweets were massacring the English language.

He's in a weird head space though and I think has struggled with his fair share of mental health issues, so I get it if he doesn't really want to deal with anything negative...Twitter's not a great place for him to be, but it's also important to his job.

I still don’t understand why duchene is not under contract at this point. One of the two sides isn’t being honest. If the Sens are leaking to garrioch that they want to keep him then they should have had contract negotiations already. If duchene doesn’t want to stay then why the emphatic messages that he does.

Oh please just eff off. Mendes and Simmer are TSN1200s "Odd Couple" and they constantly play that up. Mendes give a lot more than my little jab.

Well, here we go. Let’s see if the Sens just completely and utterly fail and go from their all-in Duchene trade, followed by trading Hoffman for the opposite of a rebuilding return to trading Karlsson and rebuilding like Melnyk recently said . This outta be good. A complete lack of vision and planning. I’m on the edge of my seat.

Yeah, I assume former NHL executives and a potential future AGM should take criticism on Twitter from Twitter groupies with 10 followers. Block away Simmer.

Toe the line or me and my 6 buddies will kick you out. Wouldn’t want ulterior opinions. We’d rather have facts thrown at us that mean nothing and turn out to be wrong all the time.

its not your opinions that are starting get under people's collar, it's your delivery. that snarky attitude and the constant attacks on posters on here. you don't argue ideas, you argue people. I'm quite sick of it if you ask me.

judging by that Mendes article on the TSN webpage it sounds like the sens aren't going to factor anything into where they may land in terms of their standing. so get ready to finish dead last folks!

part of me is absolutely frustrated by this outcome as it was absolutely obvious that we were heading in this direction before the draft. I was adamant that we should be giving up this year's pick in order to maybe have a chance at landing the first overall next year. the top 5 picks next year all seem to be just if not more promising than Tkachuk and I feel like we may have lost a great opportunity here.

now part of me is happy that they don't seem to want to consider keeping assets to keep the team half assed competitive. I think that depending on what stone, Karlsson and duchene are willing to do, if they won't sign another contract than maybe they should all be traded when we get a great offer. if thats soon in the season than so be it. like Dorion said, they want to acquire as many top assets as they can.
I just hope that this long term rebuild as it's been stated allows us in one way or another to draft or trade for guys that are considered bluechip. the Atlantic is looking very competitive going forward and with teams like Detroit looking to draft really low and Buffalo starting young and even Montreal might be getting low draft picks by the time we get to contending again we won't be alone in that category. the leafs and Boston are all fairly young and Tampa could go either way.

we're going to have to draft and trade extremely well. I'm not sure if Dorion is capable of doing both those things to the level we need them to be.

First, it was a little gentle ribbing, not criticism. How can anyone think that was criticism? In one of the few on this site that actually likes Simmer.

Second, I have a little more than 10 followers. Hell, I think I have more than 10 followers who are not bots!

And I said "eff off" because what you said was an uncalled-for insult. I thought it was funny that I got blocked for a meaningless ltle dig - the kind that The Drive uses constantly. And this kind 9f behavior from you is, unfortunately, very much the norm and not the exception. You seem to thrive on putting others down - almost as if you are so insecure about yourself that you feel the need to insult others to feel better about yourself.

There's no need for that here, and if you cannot help yourself we will help you. In our own way

Back to business.

Flo, I was dead set against the Tkachuk pick but the kid has won me over.  I'm not saying I'm running out to buy his jersey but I'm really looking forward to seeing him in regular season action.

You should read Ian's latest article. The one before was all his speculation (since there was nothing going from management). Today's article was written after spending some time with Dorion.

I may also be mixing in from Bruce's article:
- the "10 new players" is relative to the start of last season, so it already imcluded moving out Phaneuf, Oduya, Thompson, Claesson, Turris, Hoffman, and probably some I'm missing
- it also means that the 10 *new* players would include White and Chlapik and Chabot.
- The Atlantic is competitive? Boston did last year what we're doing now. It could work for us just as well. Buffalo (IMO) will struggle without ROR's leadership. Dahlin has not proven himself to be the next Karlsson yet, and Karlsson wasn't fantastic in year one. That team is still led by Eichel and I still maintain they were better off trading down.
- Montreal won't improve until Bergie is gone, and they won't get a great pick if Price is still there.
- Boston could be in for a little regression. They still rely too much on Chara and it will catch up to them
- Tampa will continue to do well in the regular season.
- Florida? I don't get the hype. They had *one* good season, got rid of their coach and heart-and-soul leader, and their goalie is getting old.
- Detroit is in shambles.

oh I read that article. although I think they are backtracking for Melnyk. the 10 players, he specified that it would be players that played less than 10 games for the sens. so I'm not buying it. my guess is he cornered Boro into a room and locked he door while he set up the camera in a try-pod with Dorion trying to push the door in. Laugh1

no the Atlantic will be very competitive by the time we are ready to compete is what I'm saying. I'm talking about our "timeline" under the new plan.
I could see the habs being bottom three this year so if they manage to land Hugues... whatchout.
the habs are quietly rebuilding, Detroit is rebuilding, Buffalo is climbing out of their rebuild and then you have Boston and Toronto with young kids making their way, Florida might be arriving there also and Tampa has a lot of good prospect but it depends if they part with any of them to try and win now.

in 3-4 years it might be one of the best division.

I also like Tkachuk but I have to see him against men. he seemed to be using an awful lot in the one game in the rookie tournament. he showed some great playmaking but his goal attempts and goals weren't exactly too skillful. not that he can't develop that in the NHL but I'd rather he develop his offensive skills against easier competition
