Yupp. We're saying the same thing which furthers my point of de haan being better than anyone we have on the left side to play with Karlsson

Ive been flip flopping on who to draft but a white-brown-tkachuk line could be pretty skilled and nasty to play against. White has been compared to Bergeron and it seems like tkachuk could end up being someone like Marchand. Brown a big playmaking center

I think white Bergeron comparisons was the ceiling talked about in his draft year. I think it’s lowered expectations for him now. 2nd line winger is a best case scenario or 3rd line C

He's only played a handful of games in the NHL. I agree he has bust potential but given a real shot and a good offseason and I think he might live up to top six expectations

Dobson could look good next to Chabot. I wonder if Edm would consider ceci for their pick. Not sure if he'd still be around at #10 but he may be an option for the Sens at #4. This draft could go so many ways for ottawa

Possibly. Depends on where they stand on Tavares.

Maybe they lure Tavares into staying by trading for Karl. 2 1sts, 2nd, bellows, pulock. it wouldn't make sense considering they expect to make Karl an offer on 01 July but man wouldnt something like that be franchise altering

Does karl wants to resign on the island?
That’s the hiccup

That’s a very interesting offer.

As the draft gets closer, I get more excited.

Zadina said that he thinks Montreal is looking for a C or D. This also, to me, confirms the popular and old theory of teams not drafting for positional need as false.

I think Rager and I spoke to this before. After trading Subban and sergachev and losing Markov MTL has virtually nobody to run their Blueline aside from Mete. They need a d-man more than anyone drafting in the top 10. Alzner was a huge bust signing for them. If there was a legit center available I think they would go that route but the jury seems out on Kotkaniemi. I think it's tkachuk, boqvist, or Kot for MTL. I can see this draft sort of like the hedman/Karlsson draft. Hedman was consensus #1 but another swede was taken later on citing size and defensive zone coverage as their weakness.

I could see Montreal trading down a bit...lots of possibilities.

The problem with Montreal trading down is whoever gets their 3rd overall will probably take the player we want.

Now, if Carolina takes Tkachuk (also rumoured) then we would have either Zadina or (gulp) Svechnikov.

I think that makes legitimate sense but all I’ve heard said by analysts is that lots of teams willing to trade down but no one wanting to pay the price to move up. It’s possible Montreal and Ottawa trade picks if Ottawa can sweeten the pot a little.

I personally would rather zadina or svech over thachuk. Even if it costs us a 3rd.

I think Montreal is one of those few teams that desperately needs to trade by position. They need to go with a big C with number 1 potential.
Secondly some D.

Could Ottawa pull of a trade?
Ottawa’s 1st, Ceci
Montreal’s 1st, 2nd round pick + very decent prospect? maybe there’s something there...

For the first time, I saw another mock like mine that has Ottawa taking Hughes. If it goes Dahlen, Svechnikov and Zadina, I’m very confident that the Sens will take Hughes.

After hearing the Tkachuk interview with TSN1200 I don't want him. Saw him last night on the Cherry segment and my first impression was he was a giant db. This interview reinforced that impression.

On the other hand Zadin said his favorite player was Patrick Kane. Ugh. This is like the provincial election.

Tkachuk is a Tkachuk, so of course he's a DB.

LOL...it's the NHL...1/3 of the guys playing there are DB's. The question isn't if he is, but if his work ethic an abilities counter it. He's not Merkley, so he's not as much of a headcase as you might think.
