I think the 29th and 30th teams are supposed to be the stanley cup finalists, respectively. Smile

As much as I would love to see a top 5 pick, it's more realistic that our pick will be in the 6 to 10 range.

Guys like Ryan Strome and Brandon Saad are very intriguing.

God, can you imagine if we took Murphy? Laugh1

Three RD offensive dynamos and no one for them to pass the puck to.

Yeah... it's a forward or bust. It will all depend on where we land and what chances we have to move up/down if needed...

There is no way Larsson gets past the Oil, I would imagine they would even try to move up if necessary to get him.

Sens sit in 25th place, league-wide. A loss to Chicago tonight would not be unexpected; then they'll sleep 2-3 hours and face Stamkos/Lecavalier/St.Louis for the back-to-back game. Remember the Leafs game under similar situation? This one is worse -- the game starts 1 hour later. The Leafs are 3 points back with 1 game in hand; Edmonton is 4 back with a game in hand -- and they just broke a 7 game losing streak. All that to say, we could find ourselves in top-3 territory by the middle of next week.

Just an FYI, those aren't predictions or based on team needs, they are just based on the scouting rankings I belive.

Yeah, but there're 42 games left in the season. I don't believe we'll be top-3/4 when all is said and done. The likely coaching change + Spezza's eventual return + the likelihood that Michalek/Fisher/Kovalev put together a hot streak at some point or another should propel us to a worse draft position.

Oglethorpe wrote:There is no way Larsson gets past the Oil, I would imagine they would even try to move up if necessary to get him.

Actually, I suspect NJ wants Larsson, NYI wants Couturier, Edmonton wants RNH to play between Eberle and Hall, and Boston would like one of Landeskog or Murphy.

Of course the final standings are not even close to being set.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Islanders haven't been in last place for quite awhile.

The Devils have had that distinction for as long as I can remember this season.

Just a hunch. We're bad, but I'm not sure if we'll end up being bottom 5 bad when it all plays out. If we start to trade some guys, the young guys will come in playing for jobs next season. It usually works out that the young guns end up picking up an extra couple of wins. We'll see.

Fair enough and I don't necassarily disagree.

The problem is, the deadline is a ways away and I think by the time Spezza gets back, Ottawa could be in 28th place. Plus, all the teams in 26th through to 29th will be in the same boat as us with the younger influence.

Meh. We shall see.

After going through this hellacious season, I really want one of RNH or Landeskog.
