Are you allowed to make offers now? I thought that teams could talk to players but could not make an offer (instead, they will tell the player's buddy how much they will pay him).

The difference in tax between Tampa and Toronto is about 11 million over 8 years.

He is making about 6 now and is a 2-time Vezina nominee. Calgary should do that in a heartbeat, provided they don't have to give up too much to Tampa.

Drinking game: take a shot everytime Pierre Dorion says that 'We had player X much higher on our list. Much higher.' I heard him say it 4-5 times last year in one interview.

2 2nds for Shaw for Montreal and now they're about to sign him to a 5 or 6 year deal apparently. I hope it's for 4.5 million!

Yeah me too. I guess they have time but there will be more before the summer ends.

Stupid move from Calgary to trade for Elliott who had the benefit to play on a very good defensive team. Not gonna shine that much Calgary.
Should of went after fleury or bishop.

They did go after bishop. Elliott is a huge upgrade on what they have and he is very underrated. Love the move for Calgary

Elliott is a good goalie but he does have some history of folding under pressure.
