Agreed. Talented but individualistic and selfish. Trading him would help Montreal so I hope they keep him.

Draft is the same as every year - out of control rumours with a few big trades. Probably a bit busier than usual due to teams lining up for expansion. My predictions:

CBJ trade 3
Buffalo trades 8
Florida trades Kulikov
StL trades Shattenkirk
Edmonton does something dumb
Sens do nothing

That's a pessimist's outlook. The optimist says "Sens do nothing dumb".

If Bolts trade the rights to negotiate with Stamkos it has to be before midnight. My guess, it's too late to get much for the rights to talk to him 8 hours before he can talk with anyone. Nothing will happen today. Tomorrow he will get a few offers and probably give Tampa the chance to match. Tampa can give him an 8th year and they have no state income taxes (unlike Toronto).

Are you allowed to make offers now? I thought that teams could talk to players but could not make an offer (instead, they will tell the player's buddy how much they will pay him).

The difference in tax between Tampa and Toronto is about 11 million over 8 years.
