I don't see any scenario where they resign Bishop.  They could only protect one of their 2 guys in the expansion draft.  I think the plan all along was to roll with Vasilevsky after next year.

I don't see any scenario where they resign Bishop.  They could only protect one of their 2 guys in the expansion draft.  I think the plan all along was to roll with Vasilevsky after next year.  

That makes Bishop a solid trade chip. If they're resigning stamkos, that would free up some space.

It's 90% signing bonuses. His actual salary caps out at around $2M for his highest paid seasons ($7M). If they buy him out, they still pay the bonuses (see: Heatley, Dany) but they'd only save a max of around $666K.

I count 10. Toews, Kane, Hossa, Anisimov, Bickel, Kruger, Seabrook, Keith, Hjalmarsson, Crawford. I don't see how you can get to $60M with 9.

I can't see smith coming close to even coming close to that level of play. His shot % Was 20%, completely unsustainable. I'm not saying he can't be useful if he's needed to fill in but I can't imagine him as a regular. We should really try moving him as his cap hit is pretty minimal for now. Someone might find him attractive Ina package for a  top 6 LW.

I don't see Eberle costing as little as mentioned. They won't move him for a pick either. Whoever gets moved out of there will be for a dman and possibly other forwards for depth.
