Absolutely. Although, if they can shed Lehtonen in that deal and not pay much more that their 1st, it's probably worth it, if nothing more than as a boost to their mindset as a team with a Cup winner as their goalie.

Yeah, not at all. If you think Anderson fan Flip flop, The variance in fleury's play is even larger. He can be really bad.

Fleury has a 920 save percentage each of the last two years and was arguably pittsburghs mvp last season. He's been to two cup finals, won a cup, and has played a lot of games. He's had two of his best seasons the last two years when Pittsburgh has been just ok, not elite. He also plays in a much tougher division. He would be an upgrade on Anderson without question. He has won something whereas Anderson can't get past round 2 or even round 1.

The only reason I wouldn't want him over Anderson is his salary is higher. I want a cheap goalie.

Anderson has been pretty good in the playoffs. I'm not a Fleury fan. I appreciate that he's won a cup though.

Fleury was great when he won the cup. Fleury has played on a much better team than Anderson. They might not be the best team in the league but compared to Ottawa? Not comparable.

So? Save perecentage is not a team stat. Fleury is a great underrated goaltender.

In 2012-13, which was the only time he went to the 2nd round, his SV% was just .918. You claimed that the only reason the Sens won that series against Montreal was Anderson's play. If that's true, then the only reason they did not advance to the Conference Finals was his poor play against the Penguins. In reality, though, he was great in game 1 when the Habs put up 50 shots and only scored 2 goals but he was average in game 2 (3 goals on 34 shots). Game 3 the Habs tried to act all tough and got their a**es whupped 6-1. Pageau with the hattrick. Anderson played well (1 goal on 34 shots) but that's a lot of run support. In the next game the Sens finally held the Habs to under 30 shots on goal but were down 0-2 heading into the third period. Conacher ties it up late, Price gets injured, they win in OT and then another 6-1 drubbing to close it out. It really was game over when Price got injured.

Anderson was great in that first game. Stole it for sure. But that's exactly what you expect from a starting goalie. One game out of the five he was lights out and stole one. Two other times he only gave up 1 goal (.971 SV% in both, I believe) but you can't say a goalie stole a 6-1 game.

Against Pittsburgh, he was very ineffective in the first 2 games (got pulled in the 2nd and Lehner came in giving up just 1 goal on 21 shots). He was great in the 3rd game (Alfie's short-handed tying goal, Greening's double OT winner). Next two games he gave up 6 goals each time. Alfie's "Probably not" in-between sealed the deal. Bottom line, he stole one game in each series, but was not very good in the four losses against Pittsburgh.

I think that was the only time Anderson got to the 2nd round.

Mixed reports on barrie. Apparently he's not very reliable defensively. Was reading comments from avs fans and it's mixed.

What can you get for an underachieving RFA? And who would want him? Back to Dallas?
