Depends on how they feel about the draft, I guess.

The thing about Hansen is he's a nice utility guy, in that he could play in the top six if need be. Still not Eriksson, but interesting for a budget team.

There's a few options, including a lesser pick packaged with a guy like The Puemper, who will probably move down the depth chart with Perron turning pro. Or give up nothing and try to sign Purcell, who also thrived under Boucher previously.

Adding a 3rd line RW should not prevent adding a guy like Eriksson to play on the left on one of the Top 2 lines, either. Not if we want to take a huge step forward anyway.

Agreed, but that's 7.5 million minimum coming in and Hansen might be a scenario where you acquire him and Vancouver uses that space to ho after Eriksson.

Plus...two players like that might be overkill with players like Dzingel and Paul ready to take the next step and white and perron coming up.

Certainly like your thinking. It's a major move or moves, but we would he mighty good up front

Hansen and Purcell are interesting from a cheaper pov. And as much as I dislike how soft Purcell is, you can't discount his success with Le Cheffre

I suppose. But maybe he realises that to buy a home in Vancouver, he has to outbid Chinese "students" and "homemakers", and you just can't do that on a pro athletes salary.

Plus "Karls" Karlsson and The Alfie might convince him to make the right choice and come play in Olde Ottawa Towne.

If dorion wants to make a big space and start putting his prints on this team, that's how to do it . Sign Eriksson, acquire Hansen and sign or acquire a third pairing veteran like polak.

It would be a very hard team to play, to put it mildly.

I like all the suggested but they all have to happen. I have a few questions as to why Hansen isn't fitting in Vancouver though. They should have room for him yet they want to trade him...

I'm also very unsure of bringing players in that had a year of success with the coach because you hope they can reproduce it. Pass on conacher,  pass on Purcell.

Also maybe Its my perception but I don't feel Vancouver is trending up yet. Still a few years to go before they can start climbing back up. So with the amount of buyouts these days do you think a guy like Erikson signs with Vancouver with a chance they buy him out by the end of the contract they give him when the team finally trends up or do you sign with a team like Ottawa is starting to trend up with a few players entering their prime? On paper we are starting to look good and only looking to add a couple pieces.

Also I was thinking about it last night and thinking of the teams competing for a cup and I find we are inadequate at the Centre position. We have a chance to go after Duchesne by trading zib + you absolutely have to do it. With what we have we are likely gonna be a mid level team 5-8 in the east. Unless white is the second coming.

Our centre depth is great IMO. Duchene would not help it. If you want a centre upgrade, you think higher than that. Is Duchene an upgrade on Turris? Not really.

Higher than that might not be available no matter how hard you look for a trade. Stamkos is t coming here.
I think you have a solid 1a 1b in duschene turris. And if white is the second coming then you move duschene to the wing.

I'm not saying our depth at center is terrible but I don't see us winning a Stanley cup with it.

I think he's a more explosive version of Turris, not sure if he's better, but boy it would be nice to have Duchene and Turris and Pageau and White down the middle.

I think he's an upgrade over Zib as Zib is more of a shooter than a passer and I find duschene excels pretty well at both. Gives you that extra dimension to slide him with anyone as we have seen with Zib it ain't so. Zib paired with Bobby Ryan has led to body having to become more of a passer to compensate and I believe has helped diminished his effectiveness on that line. I think duschene would likely make ryan better.

The thing with Stamkos is he comes without a trade. And he's a definite upgrade over zib. But no I wouldn't say he's the top center in the league. Backstrom isn't likely to be available. The problem is who is available.
