A lot of deadline players are like trash you put out at a garage sale.

...but NO value at all?  Not a 5th, not a 6th?  Nothing?  Because we're not qualifying him for 2.7 million or whatever it is this summer, so we just let a UFA walk for all intensive purposes.

Oh well..

Couldn't a Pirri for Wiercioch have worked...??...

Probably.

Yeah, Twitter is the same way right now (lead by notorious critic 6th Sens). It's sad. Murray added Phaneuf which is good going forward. See what we do at forward in the off season and then maybe whine.

It's still over 500,000 in cash that we're flushing right down the toilet. A 5th would have been fine and dandy the later the day went.

That said, he'll defi be traded for someone's first rounder at the draft.
By not playing again this year, it pushes out his UFA by a year, which could actually increase his trade value.

This Keranen seems to be pretty skilled, we'll see how he does in Bingo.

They might be all challenged.  More to come...

Twitter's even worse, if you can believe it.

Yeah, people are forgetting the Phaneuf deal which is a big reason why we're 5 and 1 in the last 6. Twitter is a tire fire right now of cry babies.

Listen, other GMs don't highly value Wiercioch or Prince because they're just not that good.

Murray did absolutely fine leading up to the deadline. There wasn't much to be done, and no sense overpaying for anyone.

Bryan Murray's presser has been delayed.....

And then we get this little tweet:

Could mean nothing in the end...

Exactly. I guess no GM wanted to pay Wiercioch 500K to play as a 7th Dman who sucks. I thought he'd have some value, but I guess not.

Time to waive him and see if someone will pick up his full salary.

Those stats are rubbish because you did not assess his game time for opponents faced and extended play fatigue. Truth be told stats never tell the real picture and are in no way the real indicate what a player is. That's the big problem I have with the analytical community. They have failed to use them as a complimentary tool and have adopted them as the end all be all.

I liked Prince but there's a mid point.

Show me in which way he was better than, say, Lazar?

So NHL trade call still on -- Mendes is assuming it is still the Prince trade call. Why would it take so long for a small trade like this.

Hopefully a team crapped their pants and insist on paying us a 1st for Wiercioch? More to come?

slowclap Damn right. As usual, Murray does his "deadline" work prior to the deadline. I think that strategy is useful and prevents over payments (or poor returns *cough Pirri *cough).

Did you post your demand on the wrong post? I don't see how your question applies.
