Deadline moves.

How about Hoffman for Ericksson? Ericksson is a better player but he's not signed and wants term and $$. Would he take less to play with Karlsson?

At this point Drouin to me is worth a prospect (Claesson?) and a 3rd at most

Erikson too expensive given his age.

Hoffman for Schwartz. Throw in a mid round pick if necessary.

I'm excited for the prospect of Drouin but he hasn't proven anything.

Drouin hasn't proved anything. He's not getting white Chabot or paul and otrawa isn't giving up their first for him. So what's left? Chiasson and wiercioch?

Claesson is a low-level prospect. It would have to be a White or Chabot and then at least a 2nd round pick. Of course Yzerman wants even more (top-level prospect, 1st or high 2nd, roster player) but he's living in the past (as in when Drouin was a 3rd overall pick); certainly since then his value has dropped as he has *not* shown much of a scoring touch in the NHL and now his character is being questioned big time.

Ya that is not happening. I think being a possible lottery pick makes this year's first even more valuable in the eyes of Tampa. I'd rather trade our first than Chabot. At least we know a bit more what we have in Chabot. Might bite us in the Donkey down the road this summer but it's a gamble.

Schwartz for Hoffman is a bit of a dream but I'd take it. Won't happen though.

There's no reason why Ottawa shouldn't want to give up their first for him. I mean I guess it better to see where the pick would be first since it could be a top 3 pick. But if we're drafting after that then I would give up the first for drop in no question. Id also rather give up chabot than white.

I would consider trading the 1st when I knew where the Sens were picking. The helter-skelter way they are playing makes me think it could be anywhere from 7-14.

I think it is irrelevant - Yzerman wants immediate help and I don't see how the Sens could provide that unless it is Hoffman.

All these rumours about the deal going down today have me glittery.

I don't see how we have to trade both our first AND one of Chabot or white. It's either or. Then you add another player or/and prospect to the deal.

We don't. It's one or the other plus somebody else

You can always put a draft-protection clause in the trade. Sens have two top-level prospects in White and Chabot and, say what you will, but Drouin is another. They can afford to trade their 1st rounder if Drouin is in the package.
