GAME DAY #27: Senators @ Rangers - 7:00pm - Sunday Dec. 6 2015
(The "Don't watch this if you're squeamish" edition.)

GAME DAY #27: Senators @ Rangers - 7:00pm - Sunday Dec. 6 2015 Large GAME DAY #27: Senators @ Rangers - 7:00pm - Sunday Dec. 6 2015 At-24-000000 GAME DAY #27: Senators @ Rangers - 7:00pm - Sunday Dec. 6 2015 Large

On second thought, maybe I won't re-post that picture of Turris' knee/ankle.  Go to the Game #26 thread if you really need to see it.  It kinda looks like he's auditioning to play the part of Elastigirl's brother in the up-coming Incredibles 2.  Apparently he's traveling with the team to NYC.  Not sure why, except maybe some of the world's best orthopedic specialists probably reside there.

In any case, I don't have much time so this has to be quick.

In the Third Game of Chrismas my True Sens gave to me, another three for Karlsson
Two Hoffman goals
And a loss to that team from Philly.

Karlsson continued his Excellent Adventure with the second three-point game in a row.  Whereas a couple games ago we were pointing to the fact that Klingberg has played more games, and that is why he was 1 point up on Erik, the gap between the top scoring defenseman and the next one has grown to 5.  Still with the game in hand, I might add.  After assisting on the Sens' first two goals (including Ho$$man's last-minute, game-tying marker), Karlsson buried a beautiful pass from Ryan behind a hapless Halak for one more ROW.  The game wasn't an instant classic as the Sens fell behind early on a flukey goal (off Boro's stick, into his shin-pads and in behind Anderson) from fourth-liner Martin.  It was 2-0 before Karlsson set up Stone's one-timer that made it close.  It was Karlsson selling a trip with under 3 minutes to go.  And it was Karlsson, again, dishing the puck to the Sens' purest scorer to tie the game.  Somewhere in there Turris got tangled up with Cizikis and, as the two of them went down, Turris' skate kept pointing in one direction as his leg continued turning in the other.  Ankle?  Knee?  Both?  X-Rays did not reveal a break but that leg did not look right (actually it kinda looked both left and right).

The Sens traveled to New York City where they will face the always tough Rangers.  The Blueshirts have been struggling since their hot start.  They now sit 2nd in the Met, and are 4-5-1 in their last 10 (for comparison purposes, so are the Leafs).  They lost their previous two games by identical 2-1 scores (the loss against the Islanders was in the shootout) and have just one win in their last six.  Over that stretch they have scored 10 goals.  That's 1.67 goals per game, for those who care, and that is definitely lower than Hank's GAA.

For the first time in a while the Sens will be the "tired" team.  They will also be short-handed as I simply cannot imagine how Turris could play tonight.  But maybe the guy is Gumby, so who knows.

As always,

GO SENS GO!!!!

We could use a win. And many trades.

Even if Turris doesn't play he isn't expected to be out long-term. #Sens

I believe murry calls them tradsies. Could be a reason for the lack of trade action?

Stay tuned.

Phew, not sure how that's possible, but that's great news.

Turris is a game time decision. Unreal!

Anderson will play his, what, eleventh straight? Then Tuesday they are in Florida, you know he will get that game.

It makes no sense that Turris' leg is still attached, let alone useable.

Anyway, this is an extremely tough test.

Anything less than a regulation win will anger me a great deal.
