I'm so curious what Joser would offer.

Strickland says major interest in Neil from Nashville.

Nashville is going for it... they are literally one piece from perhaps getting to the finals or better... piece might be Neil. Now what are you willing to pay for that piece? I say they might be able to get a protected 1st round pick if they get to the conference finals.

As for San Jose, same kind of deal, they all think they can win this year. Niemi is going the other way for sure and probably a 1st round pick. If Ottawa can end up having 3, 1st round picks in this draft that would be fantastic but the general idea of that happening to Ottawa is not realistic.

The Neiler is getting fitted for a Stetson and a Nudie Suit as we speak.

I've already stated that I think well end up with 3 as well and I'm sticking to that. I don't see why that's a stretch.

I don't think it's a stretch but I am trying to figure out a scenario where teams would trade it... I think a lot has to go right.

i think it's as likely as winning the draft...
as you say, i could see there being deals for protected 1st rounders. that makes sense.
I"m unsure as to the possibility of neil getting us one to be honest.

I think it's a long shot the sens deal anderson. maybe in the summer.

Travis Konecny just checked a guy hard and shattered the glass. Maybe we don't need to go top-five after all.

Depends on if Murray wants to give up the extra pieces with Neil to land a 1st. I sure wouldn't deal a 1st for Neil personally, but a 2nd without question. Guy brings it in the playoffs and will go to war for your team.

Neil + 4th + long shot prospect maybe? Even then, a 1st is a 1st.

Sj can suck it if they don't want to part with a 1st though, Anderson is fantastic. 1st+ please. Or hertl, but I think we have zero chance of that.

For over a season of Neil and probably more on a resigning? For the 27-30th pick with the expectation that you are going to get that deep? 100% I would if I knew that was the guy they needed. Hell they gave up a 20th for Gaustand.

If that's the guy you really think takes you over the hump, but I don't see that personally. Just like I didn't see the gaustad trade making sense either, but at least gaustad in a faceoff wizard which is huge in the playoffs.

I stand by my initial evaluation. 2nd rounder for Neil, so if you want that 1st you need to sweeten.

nobody is trading a 1st for a 4th line grinder who plays 8 minutes a night. Why is this even being discussed? Nobody is winning or losing a Cup because of Neil.

Then why even trade for him? That's a comment that's based on absolutely nothing other than an opinion of a 4th line grinder. Guess what? Guys that show up and play those tough 8-10 minutes are what win cups.

So yah, if a team believe that's the last piece they need, Neil, Vermette, or otherwise you make that move.

That's probably what he does for but a 27-30th overall is basically a 2nd rounder. Anyways, we'll see.

Dude, come on.

You're not trading a 1st round pick for a 4th line grinder who can barely keep up with the play anymore. It's not even my opinion, it's just fact that he or anyone like him isn't going to be a huge difference maker either way. He's been getting lower and lower minutes as the season has gone on. And that's on a bottom 5 team.

Saying something like "Neil, Vermette or otherwise" is pretty much like saying "Michalek, Crosby, or otherwise". The two players are not even close and one would have a much bigger impact in winning a Cup than the other. You can try to add Neil and he would help your team a bit playing those tough minutes (which he doesn't really do, actually), but no chance in hell anybody is giving up anything even close to a 1st for him. They could easily get an equivalent player for a lot, lot less. Hell, Rob Klinkhammer has been dealt to like 5 different teams for nothing and he's a better player. The only way a team gives up a 1st for a player like that is desperation, but it still wouldn't be for a guy like Neil.

I like Neil but you gotta be realistic here.
