Chiasson had a long talk with Reeds, but Cameron has not said he's sitting out, yet.

Why would they have thrown in the towel because they're starting Lehner?

Also, Chiasson should sit, but not against his former team IMO.

That would be a curious decision for sure.

Greening and Brad Mills officially assigned to Binghamton. I honestly think Greening will boost that struggling lineup somehow.

Lehner starting is no surprise. He needs to play and backups get the call a fair bit of time against teams in the other conference.

Maybe for the benefits of The Edmonton Oilers' scouting staff?

Surely I'm not the only one thinking trading Lehner is a big mistake.

If he's the make or break centerpiece of a deal to address a need, I don't see how it can be viewed as a mistake.

If it lands Hall is it a mistake? I'm going to say no.

I'm not 100% convinced. Having Anderson locked up for the next little while gives stability in net. At the same time, Murray has made it clear that the organization doesn't have a 3rd NHL level goalie right now, so trading Lehner creates a need.

A secondary need, yes. Most teams if their #1 goes down they are SOL so Ottawa would be no different. Having a hole on your team, top line LW vs backup goalie... not a hard decision to make really.

I think it's safe to assume that any deal sending one of our goalies away would involve a goalie coming back from the other team (e.g. a trade with Edmonton would have Scrivens coming back to us).

Couldn't agree more.

That's fair. Obviously, if we're getting a player like Hall, it makes a huge difference. If we're trading a player like Lehner, Zib, Hoffman, or Stone, I'm ok with it provided the best player in the deal comes to Ottawa.

Lehner will be a top 5 goalie in the league for a minimum of 10 years. Keep that in mind.

If they traded Zibanejad and Lehner for Hall that IMO is an even steven deal in terms of value or close too...

Basically any deal for Hall would go down like this minimum from an Edm perspective.

Lehner (duh)
One of Lazar/Zibanejad/Stone
Draft pick depending on the value of the player above.
Probably a token D man like Wiercioch as well.

Won't happen though, Hall is a very special player and short of him asking for a trade then he won't be dealt.

So, should we trade him for Raycroft?
