I don't think other teams will see it that way. They will see a guy who is not declining, but has seen his icetime cut back, in spite of decent production relative to other forwards on an offense-starved team. Plus 3.5 million is Diddle all for salary in the NHL.

Agreed. Legwand is on pace for his pretty average output of somewhere between 40 to 50 pts despite being healthy scratched and having his ice time cut from his time in Nashville. He can absolutely fetch a nice return.
That extra year IMO is what will limit his value.
