After this road trip ends in mid January, it will have been a stretch of about 17 of 23 on the road. The team had something like six or seven home games over a seven week stretch. If they can get on a run at home, there is a chance. The Sens go through California just before the trade deadline and I think those three games will indicate to management if they should go for it or not.

Lupul is on the IR, again. Blue Team's just about due for their annual slide out of the playoffs, just before they go on a run to make sure they don't get a good pick.

But Toronto sliding won't be enough to get the Sens in. They need to get ahead of the Leafs, Bruins and Caps.

If by easy as pie you mean: you're right as usual that the Sens are missing the playoffs then; I agree completely.

Bouwmeester is having an off-year in St. Louis. His cap hit isn't awful ($5.4M), and he's under contract until 18/19. He does have a NTC though, and Hitchcock seems to like him.....the Blues are up against the cap though and might want some cap relief...potential trade target?

He'd be amazing here. I'd look at orielly now though, it's a matter of time with him being dealt.

Yeah, Ryan O'Reilly would be nice. He has another year on his contract at $6M though, so the Avs aren't under pressure to trade him this season. I imagine the price tag in terms of assets would be huge though for him. He's only 23.

Lines from Sens pratice:

MacArthur-Turris-Stone
Hoffman-Zibanejad-Ryan
Greening-Legwand-Condra
Michalek-Pageau-Chiasson

Phillips-Karlsson
Cowen-Ceci
Wiercioch-Gryba.

Methot's out there too with the main group.

The play the big bad Bs at 1pm tomorrow.

I guess you'd ask yourself if Turris or Zibanejad are better than O'REilly and govern yourself accordingly. Also, I'm still waiting for the automatic improvement resulting from Statspadzza's departure to materialize.

What should be most disturbing for Spezza fans is how little impact his absence on the team has had. Pretty much sums up what he contributed to this team.

The trick would be trying to add ROR without subtracting any of our main young players. Which...yeah...that's probably impossible.

Methot's going to Bingo on a conditioning stint, and the Sens will call up a d-man from Bingo after Bingo's game tonight.

I wanna say a first round pick plus a decent prospect would do it. Would you give up our first for ROR?

Assuming our 1st rounder isn't a top-2 pick (which it won't be), yeah, I'd include it for ROR I think.
