Was watching Primer earlier. Didn't quite finish, yet. If you like sci fi and if you like movies that make you think so much it hurts, do yourself a favor and watch it (it's on Netflix). As someone described it, it makes Inception look like a fast food commercial. It's not a movie you can watch once (not unless you don't care about understanding what's happening). Watch it the first time, then google "primer explained" and read one of the several blogs about it. Time travel is involved and if you thought Continuum is complicated then, well, there's that fast food commercial analogy that fits here, too.

Trying to understand how it works. He turns on the machine at (say) 9AM, then goes and hides out at a hotel (unplugs everything to minimize risk of paradox or some-such). The machine runs for, say, 6 hours. I take it this "primes" it, hence the title?

Anyhow, he comes back from the hotel and gets inside the (primed) machine, and he has to stay there for 6 hours, after which time he comes out and it's 9AM -- the time when the machine was first turned on.

So, in essence, he went back in time roughly 12 hours, and in order to accomplish that "journey" he has to spend 12 hours (6 hours stuck in a hotel and another 6 in the machine).

So this part is not clear to me -- they go to a library to go on the internet and look up stocks with high volume (so their trades aren't noticed) which double during the trading day. Then, when they go back they buy shares and make money. But isn't this happening during the time that they are supposed to be sitting in a hotel with all communications devices turned off?

Whoa! I guess I wasn't as far into the movie as I thought I was. Haven't even touched on the "failsafe". I'm going to have to hold all further reading/discussion until I go back and finish watching.

This is one %*$(-ed up film. I'll have to watch it a few times.

Next Terminator movie looks dope yo.

Khaleesi is the new Sarah Connor

I think they need to take that franchise to the prehistoric age. She can bring her dragons. Imagine a terminator fighting a dinosaur.

Homeland season finale next week. This season has been excellent

Homeland has been great this season. Gotta find a new download place now that the Pirate Bay got busted.
