5 seasons to go. I hoped you stocked up your fridge because you're not leaving home for a while. That show is excellent!

I just watched the S4 finale of Orphan Black. If you have Shomi I'm pretty sure the first 3 seasons are available there (none of it is on Netflix, unfortunately). Highly recommended for the performance of Tatiana Maslany in the lead roles. She's excellent. And the story line is pretty good, too. That, and 12 Monkeys are two of the better scifi series on TV right now. 12 Monkeys just finished S2. S1 is on Shomi.

Of course all of these are available via magical means up to the latest aired episodes.

I have a dilemma coming up. I was going to cancel HBO as it's just the boys re-watching GoT for the umpteenth time, and they are jacking the price up $3 soon. Dilemma is that that package also gives me Space. Now, Orphan Black is done for this season, but there's still Dark Matter and Killjoys. And this fall: Westworld. As dark as the movie was (what with robot cowboys shooting the guests) the TV reboot looks way darker. And looks good. I wonder if it will be picked up by Bravo or Showcase, or if HBO is the only way we'll have to watch it (other than the already-mentioned magical means).

Finished Season 1 of The Wire. Was pretty cool. Kinda slow paced which is right in my alley. No real perfect / hero type of character which is also pretty cool.

Oh wait for it! Each season builds on the others! It just keeps getting better.

If you like slow paced (in a good way) you definitely should check out Night Of.

This one is a limited-run mini. Something like 8 episodes, I think. Just watched 4, not sure how they will close it off in 8 given the pacing. You will have to find it elsewhere.

Worth mentioning that this was James Gandolgini's pet project. He was supposed to play the lawyer (role went to Torturro) and is still listed as a producer in the credits.

For those of you who have never seen Game of Thrones, CTV will air S1 (uncut) starting on the 10th.

Broadchurch is pretty sweet, hard to understand the main character sometimes.

That's his 'normal' accent (the guy's a Scot). If you watch the Fox adaptation (Gracepoint) you'll hear his 'Murkin'. I prefer the Scottish brogue and just put up closed captions.

I tried watching Life on Mars -- the original, BBC version -- but Netflix didn't have captions for it. Even though I really liked it I eventually gave up because I literally could not understand 3/4 of the dialogue. There was a US remake but it was pretty terrible.

P.S. The show had absolutely nothing to do with interplanetary travel.

Go to youtube.com, type in "ally mcbeal barry white", enjoy. There's another great show that should have only lasted 3 years.

Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) and Rami Malik (Mr Robot) both won their best lead Emmys last night.  Well deserved in both cases.  Loved it when Malik came up to the mike and said "Please tell me you are seeing this too" (that's the last line from the pilot episode).

What's up with Louie Anderson?  He's always been on the heavy side but he's not well.  Needed help to get up the stairs to the stage.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus accepted her award with a great speech then let out the news that her father passed away Friday.  Wow.  Gut-punch there.

Anybody watch the Westworld pilot episode on HBO Sunday? I expected it to start slowly and it didn't disappoint. Ed Harris in essentially the Yul Brynner role, except that in his case he is not a robot ... or is he? They did not come right out and say so but this appears to be tied to the original movie, as they mentioned something that happened 30 years ago, and a bunch of older androids have been retired to some underground level which, according to some, looked a lot like the reception area from the original movie. This was pretty much why I haven't canceled HBO yet (probably should've canceled it after GoT ended and saved myself 4 months (or is it 5?).

Yeah, I watched it. It was great. I had never heard of the original movie so didn't have any real expectations about what I was getting myself into. The sky's the limit for this show...great case and seemingly great writing so far. Tons of room for the story to grow. I really, really thought it was awesome.
