You can't take players out of the equation when arguing which team is better. That's just silly. Take Malkin and Crosby out of Pittsburgh and what do you have? You have ANOTHER TEAM.

If Murray can't get value now for Spezza, he's right to wait. You want him to pull the trigger on a Vanek-ish trade and see if we can pry Collberg out of the Isles franchise?   

If he can't get a good package, trade him later on. He'll have until the deadline, and I for one would rather put up with this than have him be hasty and get mediocre value. (I just had a memory of the Havlat "trade" flash before my eyes.  )

You do not let Spezza start the season in Ottawa... you are just asking for an absolute disaster of an NHL season if that's actually the case.  I refuse to believe that happens because it would be complete incompetence.

The worst case is you get Berglund which I am more than happy with.

I don't care what he brings back in a trade.

You hope for the best possible return and IMO at this point Berglund is the best player you will get back in any deal and he's signed for 3 years at a reasonable cap hit.  If you get a prospect and/or 1st rounder tacked on then it is as good as Murray will possibly get.

His obsession with Spezza is weird though and he refuses to see how flawed of a player he truly is.

What Spezza brings back in a trade really does not matter, even if you always hope for the best. What's important is what the team looks like in October, no matter how you got there whether by trades, signings or buyouts

Pretty much... selfishly I want a draft pick to make tonight a lot more interesting... although the 33rd overall isn't all that different than the 21st in this draft.

I can't imagine that getting a 1st is the make or break for a deal outside of the Top 10.

Makes way more sense for Anaheim than Spezza. THey already have a big offensive center (even though he's also a defensive beast).
