Also, yes Sandy. Stop posting on SC, it's full of morons who's opinions are beyond ignorant.

I hardly ever go to SC anymore, only when i'm bored as hell and i've gone pretty much anywhere else i could go for info. (he's just a step above hockey buzz)
but i wouldn't say he's all gloom and doom. if anything i find he's gotten pretty soft. his article are just regurgitation of what everyone knows. My guess is that he's for the most part tooting the sens partyline so that they might give him a tinny morsel of information someday agin. it's quite a boring read for now. on top of it everyone on there sucks up to him it's unbelievable.  Facepalm

maybe we can be a little harsh on here and it would be nice to have a few more posters over here but at least it's not mindless like on so many other sites. still you have to think there's some people out there unaware of this site that would be good contributors.

Just sad. Is there a date picked? Probably today because we are supposed to be getting 20 mm of rain, right? Now I'm not going to make fun of people when they say things like "We gave Alfie more than a year" and remind everyone that Player #11 was almost run out of town in 2006. But when they say things like "Plus if he goes, so does Hemsky", well, that's just sad. Didn't they listen to the interviews? Can't they discern the difference between what Michalek said and what Hemsky said? Michalek may not be back but at least he was 100% ready to come back. You couldn't even say he was "non-committal". He's gone.

I'll make fun of these virgins.  They seriously need to get a life.  I love hockey, I love watching it, I love the Sens... I would never be more upset than when Alfie left and even then I wouldn't leave my house to voice my opinion.  Hockey is a business, get over it.  These guys seriously need a life because anyone that has that much time on their hands really doesn't have a ton of purpose on this earth.

In all fairness, you can't judge someone who is passionate about a cause for wanting to do something about it. What makes *you* a better fan for saying "It's business and I can't do anything about it?" Do you think when I scream "Come one ref!" while sitting in my living room it makes the tiniest amount of difference? Wouldn't be surprised if a few things got broken around the city of Ottawa when PK scored that OT goal after they blew the 4-1 lead in the last 3-1/2 minutes. Fans do things that make non-fans raise their eyebrows all the time.

Now, granted, the deliberate, premeditated act of establishing a Face Book event and gathering at a specific time in a specific place is not the same as a real-time expression(however loud) of joy or disgust, but who are we to judge, really. And as for saying they don't "have a ton of purpose on this earth" that's just a bit over-the-top. From the pictures I saw of the last one it was a bunch of retired people. You don't get all up in arms when they go to the mall at 7AM to do a bit of mall-walking, so why concern yourself when they go walking on Parliament Hill. Couple of days ago a bunch of people went there to smoke some weed. Is that a cause you support? Or how about that poor beat up dog? You support your causes, other people support theirs. No need to judge.

Prags, anyone that gathers to protest trading Spezza is an idiot. If not because it's a dumb cause to waste time on, then because they don't realize it'll be a good thing for the hockey team.

Might make me a worse fan to be honest but I go to bed knowing that's not what entire life is based around.  Protesting for a sports team (short of it leaving the city) is beyond stupid.  Comparing a political situation like the legalization of weed or w/e other cause people protest is not the same as "protesting" for a single player on any sports franchise that a select few people don't want to see leave.

You never fail to leave common sense out of your statements which is always impressive.

I actually take it as a compliment that I worry about the abuse of living beings and the people who choose to carry out vicious actions and could pose a threat to society vs trading Jason Spezza lol.  Thanks, this actually makes me feel like I am not a complete waste of skin.

They need a life, seriously.  That's what it comes down to.  I love talking Sens, watching Sens, watching hockey, playing hockey, it's fun, it's an escape.  Fact is my life is largely based around reality and how the Sens perform, who plays for them, and what goes on within the organization and with the owner affects my life very little.

If the biggest concern in your life is whether or not Jason Spezza is traded, lol, I just feel sorry for you.  Is that judging?  Yes it is.

And make no mistake about it, it IS a dumb cause to waste time on. Protest worthwhile things, sure. Dogs being mistreated, unfair laws, things that matter. But to protest for a millionaire playing a game is incredibly stupid.

Cogliano + what from the Ducks I wonder. I'm pretty sure Murray will ask for Cogliano as he's wanted him for a while, but obviously there has to be other pieces.

for the life of me i cannot understand why they would choose to protest on parliment hill? this isn't a political decision? do they wish to sway the opinion of Harper so he places a phone call to melnyk &co? this is ridiculous and challenged. you're going too protest for something like that you do it on the doorsteps of the owners, somewhere like CTC, or maybe go walk through the streets near spezza's house. hahaha, i'm sure he'd love that! Laugh1

Cogliano and a first would be fine with me. Honestly, the return isn't even that important.

I don't see how you just piss away a skilled NHL centre, no matter how unpopular he is in the market he plays in.

I think we're better off without him, even if we bring back nothing in return. Our record without him the past couple of years supports this theory. So it's "addition by subtraction", if you will.

Obviously we'll get something of value for him. Murray will do whatever he can to maximize the return; I wouldn't expect it to be great. I think the important thing is just to make sure he's gone.
