I think we're better off without him, even if we bring back nothing in return. Our record without him the past couple of years supports this theory. So it's "addition by subtraction", if you will.

Obviously we'll get something of value for him. Murray will do whatever he can to maximize the return; I wouldn't expect it to be great. I think the important thing is just to make sure he's gone.

I think as Sens fans we should get used to addition by subtraction. Bobby Ryan, Clarke MacArthur and, eventually, "Karls" Karlsson, Lehner, Turris... will be gone for nothing and thus adding more to the team. GO SENS GO!!!

No, we're not, but if your team is already equipped with players that grind it out and play the game hard and you're not scoring enough goals...well, guess who can help? Spezza. And he could literally be the difference between a Cup and nothing for some teams.

Again, we're talking about contenders, teams that are built correctly and need that extra piece. I can think of a few without question. Then you have black hole teams who don't really know what they want to be anymore - like Nashville and Phoenix. And so on...

Hey, I like Spezza and agree he could help a team in need of an offensive boost. I'm just saying we're not going to get great return for him, and that it doesn't matter, because it's more about getting him out of here than what we get back for him.

Spezza will get back a top 6 forward, prospect, and a pick.  That's not overly pricey nor is it an underpayment.
