It's been Murray's MO since becoming GM.

Weircioch should have been in the AHL all through last season.

Cowen should have spent at least a full year in the AHL.

Lehner should have spent last year and this year in the AHL.

Ceci should be in the AHL.

Zibanejad should have been in the AHL all last season.

Other than all world Karlsson, the AHL is a good place to develop.

I am very worried they won't have the patience to give Lazar a full year.

Give lazar a full year where? He is ready for the nhl. They're not waiting two years for him.

Some of those guys were fine...zibby proved he belonged, Cowen had a fantastic rookie season, not sure why he should have been in the ahl.

The Detroit model of giving all your guys tons of ahl time sucks

No he shouldn't have. He's all world in the NHL last year, he dominates the AHL during the lockout, and this year when he as rolling he was NHL first star of the week and the guy that put this team back on the rails. MacLean put Anderson back in and the team has been a mess ever since.

He's been put in behind a team that is void if any kind of character or identity. It amazes me how people can be so short sighted and have such short memories. Lehner is an NHL goaltender that's struggling behind an awful team and a young goaltender at that. IMO this isn't even bad for him going forward but next year he needs to be given the reigns and allowed to succeed.

Is this Zibanejad's first shift in the third?

You ruin some prospects brining them up too quick.

I would argue that they would all be better had they spent more time in the minors.

I think he would have been better off playing every game in bingo this year than sitting on the bench. I think both Anderson and lehner are guys who need the majority of starts. Even if he is nhl ready I think it was a waste keeping him chained.

I have no concerns going forward though

All the young guys will be fine, they just need guidance and time. The vets and the coaching this year (the decisions anyways) have let this Sens team down. This was the season the Sens were supposed to have 2 seasons ago and they are having it now... makes it worse without a 1st round pick but this season at the end of the day is probably something that needed to happen for the players and organization to move forward.

The biggest problem is just the total lack of character and identity... they go hand in hand. On ice it starts with your captain and once again this team perfectly reflects Spezza game and character.

Way too young to play so few games in a season. If he was going to be here, MacLean needed to give him half the games.

And what's his beef with Ceci? He's playing a lot better than Phillips. Why not send BigRig to the AHL as well?

I will reluctantly agree that based on the way Lehner has been handled this year he would have been better off in the AHL. That said he's an NHL goaltender that is meant to be a #1. Anyone who says you can't be a #1 without being a decent back is completely out to lunch, it's BS. Lehner is a guy that needs to play and this year he proved he was the better option vs Anderson but MacLean totally ignored that.

The whole season along with Lehner's game went into the sh*tter when MacLean went back with Anderson.

Murray and the Sens made their bed with Lehner by trading Bishop and I still to this day agree with it but next year it is time to see what you have because if he isn't the guy they need to find out quickly.

My problem is that While Ceci seems to be able to handle his mistakes without losing confidence, I have seen way too many 20 year old D be ruined by being rushed. Luke Schenn was decent his rookie season.

That's not an argument, it's an opinion. Cowen struggled after missing a year with hip surgery. Lehner simply wasn't given enough games to get into a groove; the only time he did, he won three in a row then got pulled. Zibanejad struggled with Condra and Kassian as his winger, and playing lee than Neil. He's got goals two games in a row yet the first tie I saw him in the third was at the 9 minute mark. It goes on and on. The issues the young kids have had were mostly not something that needed more AHL time to cure. Too many kids, in general, was an issue. Also some players getting big contracts and seemingly playing comfortable.

AHL was not the answer.

Different players. Toronto market was expecting schenn to be something he wasnt. There isn't much pressure on ceci here. Karlsson insulates him nicely.
