In a New York state of mind...

New York Rangers (28-27-7, 4th in the Atlantic and 10th in the East) visit the Ottawa Senators (36-23-4, 1st in the Northeast and 3rd in the Eastern Conference) Tuesday night at the SBP. After a long break for most of the Senators players they're back at it Tuesday night at home. Here's hoping the layoff didn't kill the momentum that the team was building prior to the Olympic games.

The Sens should be getting Karlsson back for this game which is good news since there haven't been any replacements brought in for the loss of Campoli to injury and the trade that sent Picard out of town. Brian Lee has been recalled from Bingo and should see a diminished roll compared to his last game with the re-insertion of Karlsson to the back end. I expect a lot of missed passes and sloppy play at both ends of the ice, at least to start, as both teams shake off the rust.

Is there a way to update the injury section to reflect how close these guys are to coming back?

plus Gaborik was hobbled for the last couple games of the olympics. word is he may miss the first couple rangers games.

Is Alex Auld with his new team?

Side-by-side stats comparison updated. Man, Gaborki *is* the Rangers' offense. If he's out this should be almost a gimme. Plus King Henrik's .920 is not that far ahead of Elliott's .910, and if you consider the fact that Elliott was below .900 prior to the winning streak, I'd guess he's been by far the hotter hand in the last dozen games.

Of course the two week break cancels everything out.

Lundqvist had no break. He'll be ready to go. Let's hope that the Senators not named Alfredsson, Ruutu, Kuba, Michalek and Volchenkov are ready to go.

And what potential new Senators might be in the line-up, and which current players might not be? The suspense lingers. Also the last game before the deadline, and coincidently they play Carolina on March 4.

As much as the Olympics were great, it's very refreshing to see a Sens GDT once again.....

let's hope the olympic break didn't ruin the mojo the Sens had going. The Rangers are definitely beatable, Lundqvist or not.

FINALLY! This is what matters to me!

Sens should be able to take this one at home, not a lot of better teams in their own barn. Elliott will get the start Im sure, I wonder when Leclaire will play again?

when the games don't matter in the regular season anymore, IE, when the playoff spot is clinched.
