Yah but it doesn't depend on what Spezza wants... depends on what Murray wants.

That's what I meant, if Murray's asks him for it he has to give it.

At the end of the day Murray has to make moves that will force MacLean to play a certain way and that's with youth and grit. With hard work, character, players buying in, and enthusiasm goals and wins will take care of themselves. MacLean is trying to make chicken salad with chicken sh*t and there needs to be a clear direction.

Don't think it's far off. I heard about the Colorado thing but I wouldn't be surprised if Spezza ended up in Anahiem if they really tail off, after all they do have an extra 1st round this year.

This season has been a total sh*t show.

Doug Maclean on the Fan590 this morning: "How could they be better last year without Karlsson, Spezza and no MacArthur?"

Horra-awful season.

Nothing to say about last night. It was comical.

The only thing to talk about is how does Murray try and fix this in the off-season, and I'll reserve that discussion for the main Sens thread.

MacLean seems like he is in deep as well.  He has made a lot of mistakes this year with the way he has handled a lot of different players.

I'm willing to give MacLean a mulligan on this season. His best players were very inconsistent outside of Turris and MacArthur. (side note: Turris is an incredible +18)

PMac didn't suddenly become an idiot after winning the Jack Adams. With Spezza and Michlaek playing in their own end all season, there's only so much he could do. We played some of our best hockey when Spezza was out of the lineup for those couple games. And then guys like Methot, Cowen, Phillips, Lehner, and Anderson all struggled. The one thing that weirds me out is Wiercioch's lack of playing time, but it's not like playing him more would've saved the season.

We can't go through another coach. It's time to change the leadership of the team, and that means YOU, Spezza.

I agree MacLean gets another shot going forward, no question.  That's not to say he didn't piss off a lot of different guys in different ways this season.  I can't imagine Lehner, Methot, Corvo, Wiercioch, and some others are all that pleased with him.

Spezza def doesn't get another coach and truthfully I don't think Murray should either.  But yah, time for Spezza to go is now because they are not moving forward with him so they better get something for him.  Fact of the matter is Redden, Chara, and Alfie all left for nothing and they can't afford to have that happen with Spezza.

He was already an idiot when he won it. In spite of being an idiot.

Possibly. Even if it was Cory "Too Many Men On The Ice" Clouston, I wouldn't fire him. Can't go through another coach. Just. Can't.

I reluctantly agree.

Except no one would put Colton Orr on the ice as the 6th guy when you pull the goalie needing a few goals.

Neil is fine in his role, not sure why anyone would say otherwise.

Because he has a negative impact on the game? He doesn't do anything, he doesn't even fight anymore

Who's he stepping up to fight for? Spezza? No thanks.
