if I'm Buffalo I'm keeping Miller and re-signing him. There is not other goalie in the org who will do what he does

Tim Murray and Ryan Miller both stated that a trade is the desired way forward.

He has to want to stay which is an issue it seems.

I honestly don't know if he ends up in St.Louis... Armstrong seems dead set on going with Halak and Elliot which IMO and a lot of other peoples is a big time mistake. You can also bet on Halak coming back in any deal if a trade with Buffalo is made.

My guess is he ends up in Washington.

I agree with the sentiment that it would be almost a better thing for the Sabres to keep Miller and re-sign him, but it sounds like Miller wants out.

Well it won't happen ,but why not for Ottawa? They get a much better goalie for a playoff run this year, get Andy's money off the books for next year, give the starting job to Lehner.

Yah don't think so. Anderson will be a Panther by the draft.

Chris Stewart to Ottawa?

http://www.stltoday.com/sports/columns/jeff-gordon/hockey-guy-stewart-speculation-persists/article_5ba8c229-06b5-52a4-97cd-dcb906de7544.html

The low-rent Ottawa radio guys are talking like 4.1 million is a ton of money in the NHL. It's actually Diddle all.

Murray was also talking about getting a guy with a little term left on his deal so he may very well be talking about Stewart. Not my first choice but it's a move that makes sense and he's a legit top 6 forward who is young. Not sure what you would have to give up to get him though.

I would think if they are going to move Methot for him that another D man would be coming back from St.Louis in the deal. Pretty sure they are loaded there but I think they would prefer him vs Leopold so who knows. Don't think the Blues touch their back end other then maybe sending Ian Cole somewhere.

Part of the issue is money so it might be for a cheaper player, a pick and a prospect.

St. Louis responds to trade request rumours:

"I've had conversations with Steve about my future with the team and I'll leave it at that"

Methot for who? I don't like trading him - and you shouldn't either.

If I had to guess any deal that involves the Sens and Stewart I think Greening is the guy that moves on in a straight swap. Greening is a Hitchcock type player through and through who gets a big raise next year and that would actually offset a lot of what Stewart makes. I can't imagine Stewart has much more value than that of Greening right now... maybe they throw in a prospect like Da Costa. That's about all I would give up for Stewart.

St.Louis isn't taking on another D man without at least 1 or 2 going back the other way which won't happen.
