Lots of chatter about Phillips moving and hey if prices are sky high why not get something decent? IMO if he is moved it's Boston.

Oh yeah, that's right...

Sooooooooo he's not coming anywhere near Ottawa, right?

If he wanted to win, why would he have signed the Flyers OS?

Philly just needed to fix their goaltending and they probably told him they'd do everything to do that. They're a pretty solid team when all is said and done.

Find it hard to believe that Murray pulls the trigger on what's basically our only veteran D-man.

Corvo is older.

TSN headline: "OILERS GM MACTAVISH WANTS EARLY PICKS BACK AT DEADLINE"

You can't make this stuff up.

Methot is a vet, Karlsson is a Norris winner... other guys have been groomed. Phillips doesn't really bring a ton at this point and has lost a step. Whatever the outcome I wouldn't be surprised or upset but IMO I think Phillips may get moved.

Like early in the 4th round? Or early as in 2nd's and 3rd's back for some guys? Either way the last thing the Oilers need are picks.

MacTavish said that they currently pick in the first round and then don't pick again until the fourth. He said he'll be disappointed if they don't get a pick between those (2nd and 3rd rounders).

If you're an Oilers fan, do you want to hear your GM saying that he wants 2nd and 3rd round picks? How about: "We're going to try and get players to help us win."

Well that's the entire point, right? That said no playoff team is going to give up players that will help them win right now either. He will get a 2nd rounder for Hemsky I think but that's about it.

TMurr wants a 1st and a top prospect for Ott. With so few teams out of it there aren't going to be a lot of sellers so, who knows, maybe he'll get that much.

Bolland apparently looking for a 7-8 year extension at $5M.

Again until Vanek goes and to a lesser extent Camalerri and Moulson then I don't think any team gives up that for Ott. A team like Boston and Anahiem would much rather use their 1st rounders to get a D man (which I think they will), LA is looking for a scorer, Chicago won't be making anything except depth moves, Pitt might make a play for Ott but they have up their 1st rounder last year so they may not be willing to part with it this year, Toronto I wouldn't expect to pay that price, Montreal may... but that will be a decent pick at the end of the day, Tampa? Perhaps, I could see that move. San Jose may be willing to pay that price as well as their window is closing and closing quick.

All that said I don't think Ott goes for nearly that if he is traded at all. Better luck getting that much for Mouslon. There might be only 4 or 5 teams that are flat out of the race but that doesn't mean there isn't a surplus of guys those teams are willing to move.

Ott will go for a 2nd and a prospect (like Prince) IMO.

Won't be getting that in Toronto.

Buffalo could restock really fast here, with guys like Moulson, Ott, and Miller to deal...plus the return they already got for Vanek.

There is another guy that would probably get a 1st rounder in Miller and chances are where ever he goes he resigns.

Ott is the guy the Sens have to go after and resign if they make a move. If they do nothing else besides that then I would be happy, no real point in giving up assets for rentals who won't really help.

if I'm Buffalo I'm keeping Miller and re-signing him. There is not other goalie in the org who will do what he does

Tim Murray and Ryan Miller both stated that a trade is the desired way forward.
