Right now he's like tech stock you bought on hype and it's crashed a bit. If you sell now you take a loss. Otherwise you hope it starts to perform and you can get your money back.

Plain and simple, Cowen has value, but it's far less than what the Senators want. You think after last years Bishop debacle that they want to trade another prospect with huge upside (and he has huge upside) only so see that they didn't get value.

Cowen is staying, Neely is right he's got promise, but he's got to regroup this summer and dedicate himself to fixing what's wrong. Personally watching him he's still suffering from his injury. That particular hip injury can result in permanent mobility issues, so he needs to spend the summer working on his skating, and pivots..etc to get better in his own end. Then he won't panic and be out of position so much and his game will come back.

He absolutely can do it, but it's going to take hard work, and a summer filled with sweat and frustration. This summer will speak volumes as to his character, but that's just my opinion
