Bryan and Tim have probably had long talks already, my guess is Buffalo wants something Bryan isn't willing to give up.

Also think B.Murray has to get the Phillips situation sorted out. No idea what happens there but I don't think he's going to take that 1 year deal because that's a lot of money to be turning down.

Wonder if Stewart dresses for the Sabres tonight, IMO if he does he isn't going anywhere.

my guess is BM and Tm already have a trade ironed out and it will happen before puck drop tonight. no way were they going to send guys packing before the heritage classic. i understand that wier deserved to play but IF, that means Cowen might have been put in the offer I doubt we're just talking Stewart.

If Cowen is being moved it's for a huge upgrade up front IMO.

One problem is that Tim knows all the best prospects. Doing a deal with Buffalo will be hard because he's not going to fall for the old "Just came on the lot, driven by a little old lady" trick.

According to The Hockey Simmer, there is no market for Cowen.

I've been linking Cowen to Edmonton for a while now. Everyone without value in the NHL has value in Edmonton. If this Chris Stewart thing doesn't happen I fully expect something big to go down with the Oilers.

And agreed. If Stewart plays for Buffalo he's not being traded. If he's a healthy we know something is up.

I think we'll find out the answers to our questions this afternoon.

Edmonton won't be trading for Cowen.

I wouldn't trade for ANYBODY on Edmonton. They are a bunch of losers. I can't stand trading for guys who made their team a basement dweller.

That and anyone who is worth a thing in Edmonton they don't want to trade. Gagner, Hemsky, Smyth... no one wants those guys and even if they do they won't be giving up a ton to get them.

Cowen, if he ends up anywhere will be Buffalo or Colorado IMO but I wouldn't hold your breath either.
