This has been more like the Methot of last year. Might have something to do with not playing LA/SJ/ANA. Overall, other than the draws and some running around in the D zone, much better tonight.

Unbelievable winning shift by Methot.

Huge 2 points. Thanks Anderson and Spezza.

Good Lord Spezza almost lost it for us. Anderson saved them, what a pass from methot. 2-2-2 on a grueling road trip to start the year. Take it!

Methot was really solid for sure. Little Conacher too.

A lot of guys almost gave it away in that third and ot, but damn...happy to win.

Exactly what I had originally hoped for on this trip - 6 points. Didn't think we'd get raped quite that bad in California, but I'll still gladly take the points.

Surely Ryan can score a hatty too against Dubnyk on saturday?

Anderson? Spezza? Andy had something like 4 shots to deal with in the 1st, then he lets out a horrible rebound right in front off the faceoff -- very soft shot, should have had no trouble directing it wherever he wanted. Of course whoever was on right wing can't just let Klinkhammer walk in like that. And where were the D? Brutal coverage on that one Next one, not sure if Andy ever saw it, but he was out to the top of his crease, at least. Anyhow, made some decent saves later on but nothing really that stood out.

And as for Spezza, not a good game, but the results were there. That no-look pass (late in the 1st?) had me pulling my hair out (I guess I can thank Anderson for bailing us out on that one). Other than on faceoffs (and I'm not even checking, but I assume Spezza did better) Turris had a much better game overall, yet #19 with the natural hattrick. Go figure.

Yah, not sure I would credit Anderson a whole lot for that win. Spezza obviously had a huge game when they needed him too along with Conacher, having a little grinder beside Spezza is huge which is exactly what he needs. Spezza is the skill, he doesn't need more and more skill with him.

Greening had a fantastic game as well, thought Karlsson was better along with Methot. Cowen and Weircioch are not playing together anymore which is a good thing, not enough experience there and Wiercioch struggled on the right side (funny how that works eh for those of you who rip that line of thinking). Gryba was REALLY solid IMO.

All in all, 6 points on the 6 game road trip which may be the toughest part of their schedule all year is decent, not ideal but they come home now and get to kind of put their feet up and just play the game. Ryan has score 3, Spezza coming off a hat trick... ending the trip this way with a win and tons to work on during the year is probably the best outcome possible. Humble and hungry.

Feels good to win.

Just had a new baby on Thanksgiving Monday, so wasn't able to watch the game until this morning.

Spezza with the hat-trick, and I'm pretty sure all three were flukey (the slapper seemed to go off a Phoenix defender's stick). Still, should get him rolling.

The reason we won this game was Matrix . He made three huge saves just in OT to keep us alive. Spezza and EK both had horrific turnovers leading to Grade A scoring chances for the Coyotes, and Matrix denied them.

It was awesome to see Conacher get the game winner...he was our best forward.

Hopefully this creates some momentum. There is no reason not to stomp NJ into the ground tomorrow.

Disagree with Anderson. Not a heavy workload last night and still managed to get 3 behind him. He has to be better.
