Any team he gets traded to has the capability to sign him for one more year than any other team (part of the new CBA). That would be an extra $8M or so. So, yeah, anyone "resigning" him automatically gets the upper hand.

Given that Anaheim will want to make a deep playoff run, I kinda think they'll want more in terms of quality roster players.
