Any team he gets traded to has the capability to sign him for one more year than any other team (part of the new CBA). That would be an extra $8M or so. So, yeah, anyone "resigning" him automatically gets the upper hand.

Boston would need to make cap space, they are pretty much maxed out.
Same with Detroit, plus I don't think they're a top destination anymore, they lose out on Parise/Suter.
Pittsburgh might be low on cap space too
Not sure why he would want to go to a media circus like Montreal

As for the extra $8M, it really depends on whether money is his top priority or not.

Wonder if giving up this years and next years 1st is enough to get it done with Michalek and Weircioch.

That's a huge risk. I am hoping the Murrays would have some insider info on what Perry's plans/preferences are. It's tampering but that stuff happens all the time behind the scenes.

We did it with Anderson but all we did is give up Elliott which wasn't a loss (it was a gain).

The real question is, what the hell does he want?

Given that Anaheim will want to make a deep playoff run, I kinda think they'll want more in terms of quality roster players.

Anaheim isn't going to get THAT good players considering he is a pending UFA. Look at what Kovy went for.

If this is true then Anaheim will trade him ASAP, this will become a huge distraction in the room.

Michalek is the best trading chip we have, along with the 1st and a good prospect. No team in the East have the luxury to trade that. Unless Boston wants to trade Lucic which would be really surprising.

Michalek could take Perry's spot right away, obviously not the same kind of production but he could be huge if he was the guy going back.

Michalek is probably a guy the Sens can ship off at this point because IMO it is all downhill for him here on out.

Lucic is a depreciating asset in Boston. Might be time to trick the Ducks into taking him.

Stay the course.....and sign him in the off season. If he won't sign in the off season, I don't know if he would in the middle of the season. Although it worked in Anderson's case, but sens didn't give up much to get him.
