I was thinking that we could put all of the less major stuff in this thread regarding the Sens. Small roster changes, line movements, etc.

SENATORS RECALL DEFENSEMAN BRIAN LEE FROM BINGHAMTON

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled defencemen Brian Lee from
the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators.


Lee, who is being recalled for the third time in 2009-10, has played 15
games for the Senators this season, recording two goals, one assist,
eight penalty minutes and a +1 rating.


In 74 career National Hockey League games (all with the Senators), the
Moorhead, Minn., native has registered 17 points (four goals, 13
assists) while amassing 45 penalty minutes. In 31 AHL games with
Binghamton this season, the 22-year-old has three goals, seven assists
and 42 penalty minutes.


The B-Sens (seventh East Division, 22-28-3-2, 49 points) next see action
on Friday, Feb. 26, when they host Providence at 7:05 p.m.

I'm a little disappointed, I'm not a big Lee fan, but I still think there's a deal coming personally.No offense to Lee, but the sooner he's part of a deal for a useful player, the better.

Why would they recall Lee right now? Why not next week when play resumes? I'll be shocked if he's still a Senator after the Trade deadline.

They are beginning practices.

I wanna say so that he can practice with the team in case he's not traded, but boy, I sure hope we upgrade one spot on D (and by all means, sacrifice Lee to do it!).

I can't envision any scenario where we don't trade for a defenseman.

I assume Karlsson is good to go so doesn't that make Lee the 7th d-man? In which case, why recall him for practice. Unless of course, Karlsson isn't ready yet which would suck.

Campoli is still injured, and Picard was traded.

We're missing Campoli as well. We had Derek Smith and Lee in the lineup the last time we played. Even with a healthy Karlsson we still need to fill Campoli's spot in the mean time.

It might be to show that we're not "desperate" to add a D-man since we already have one with NHL experience in the fold.
