Brassard is fine, ROR would be amazing, Penner would be fine. Hopefully he's really kicking tires right now.

Maybe, maybe not. I'm of the opinion they should be a little more patient and see where they are at in a couple weeks. Get a way better idea of where things are going for this season at this point.

Maybe. Every time I think that, I think that it's a short season and March is a long way off in terms of games played, but it's also a pretty fair indicator of where we'd stand. It's pretty frightening to have to rely on Karlsson and Anderson though, where's the offense in that?

I hope to heck Michalek wakes up and supports Alfie and Turris a little better. Can't point fingers at Silf or Z-Bad, they've been excellent, but you can point fingers at the 3rd line and even the 4th line and hope they can prove their worth when times are tough and put the puck in the damn net.

Can't really say much about O'Brien or Condra either, they have pulled more then their own weight. Neil has been good on most nights as well.

Greening, Smith, and Michalek are the guys that are MIA.

Smith has been better the last two games I've found, but he can be a lot better too. He needs to be plowing guys into next week, instigating Dung, but he also needs to score. Same with Greening. Every time they step on the ice, the other team should know they're gonna be hit - and hit hard.

This needs to happen - tomorrow. Not next week, tomorrow. More piss and vinegar (and offense) from the 3rd line, or be replaced by O'Brien/Condra/Daugavins - or call up Grant. I'm sure he'd love a chance.

Grant? Doesn't he have a broken collarbone?

Problem is I'm not sure if Brassard fits with this team. He's soft as tissue to name one thing, but the price will be right I'm sure.
overpayment. Brassard has been on the trade block every year in Columbus. no way do we need to pay that much. bishop vs brassard is almost even value in my eyes. a guy that isn't fitting in agaist a promising young goal tender. you might want to add a 3rd line type of prospect but not more then that in my opinion.
I realize that Pumpel's value isn't very high right now but you have to still treat his potential as a guy that could be a top 6 winger.

You're gonna have to pay to get Brassard. It's a similar situation to Turris IMO, where perhaps this kid needs a kick in the pants. But still, he's a 50 point guy with upside, you're gonna have to pay.

Listening to McGuire on NHL network, he said to watch for Ottawa and Minny to talk turkey. Setoguchi perhaps? Not a fan really, but the kid has skill.

He also mentioned Cullen, but I wouldn't have any interest anymore in him.

He's a 6th overall bust? Maybe, debatable to be honest but sure. Does that mean get can't produce? It does not.

As for Minny... not sure who Ottawa would want but Murray loves Cullen and he fits into MacLean's system like a glove and he can still move.

A yeah, you must be right. Grant's also got a bit of size over the Hoff, right? OK, sure, let's see Gryba and Grant up here.

Grant is the next guy coming up. ZERO question about that short of Hoffman and Stone getting healthy very soon.

Bouchard, and Cullen are UFA after this year. Clutterbuck is RFA. Setoguchi is the only other top sixer that makes sense, though Brodziak could be another option. Scores like a great 3rd liner or a tweener 2nd liner.

Always loved Bouchard. Tons of skill, but unfortunate injury issues. I'd love to have him here. Throw in Cullen too, but he's old and tired now.

Flipping Greening for Setoguchi would be a dream. Issue is that's ANOTHER RH shot. IMO Cullen would be the target considering his history with Murray in Anahiem and earlier in Ottawa. He was SOOO good with the Sens and he's the type of guy that will be exactly as advertised until he's 40.

Also, Cullen is a guy that can come in, not disturb the lineup or the room, fit in on any of the top 3 lines, can play center, and produced consistently at about 1/2 PPG every single year. He's the ideal player you want to bring in for some support and I would think he wouldn't cost a ton to bring over either.

He's burried in Minny right now so his stats this season IMO are not accurate in terms of what he does every single year. Very smart player that can work the PK, PP, and bring balance and some experience to a very young lineup. Good player to have with kids right now because the stress might get to them.

There is such thing as too much youth and the Sens are bordering on it if they haven't gone past that ratio already.

He's lost a big step though. I've seen a few Minny games and haven't been impressed, plus he's old as the hills and will continue to digress. Plus, he chose NOT to sign with us, but to sign with Minny. I wouldn't touch him at this point personally, that ship has sailed.

Yeah, I'd probably do Seto for Greening, but how do you possibly sour of Greening in 10 games? He's playing on the 3rd line with Z.Smith who is also struggling and Neil who has limited offense. He's worth every penny of his contract, works harder than anyone in the gym, loves to hit guys, has a track record of scoring and playing well, come on....

I'd hope you'd do Seto for Greening in a second. That's like saying, "I'd probably do Crosby for Michalek." Laugh1

EDIT: Granted, I'm exaggerating. All I meant was that, one for one, you make that move every day of the week. Seto has scored 30+ in the NHL. His average is more in the 20s, but he's basically a better version of Greening (at least at this stage).
